Gnomes are small forest dwellers who guard underground treasures and live in interesting fairy tales... A little fairy gnome can be made of felt to guard the treasures of your home.

To make a fabulous gnome, we need:

  • - paper;
  • - scissors;
  • - blue felt;
  • - white felt;
  • - beige felt;
  • - red felt;
  • - synthetic winterizer;
  • - one pink bead;
  • - two black beads;
  • - threads of blue, red, white, beige, black and pink flowers;
  • - a needle;
  • - red sequins;
  • - red beads.

The procedure for making a fairy gnome

1. Cut the gnome's pattern out of paper, after drawing all the details - the body, face, beard, cap, arm, round base and edge for the hat and fur coat.

2. Let's move on to cutting out the details of the gnome from felt. First, cut out the body of the gnome, four parts of the arm and the base from blue felt.

3. From white felt we will cut out an edge for a hat, an edge for a fur coat and a beard for our gnome. We will also cut out four details of the cuffs in the form of small stripes.

4. Cut out the cap for the gnome from red felt.

5. The face should be cut out of beige felt.

6. Take the blue torso part and the red cap part. Place the cap part on the torso part so that the corners coincide. Sew on the cap with red threads with a basting stitch.

7. Now take the beard and attach it to the torso part just below the cap part. Sew on the beard with white threads. Only the top edge of the beard can be sewn on.

8. On top of the beard, attach a beige face detail and sew it with small stitches with beige threads.

9. Now you need to sew on the white details of the edge. To do this, take a needle with a white thread and a hem for the hat. We attach the edge to the bottom edge of the cap and sew it with small basting stitches.

10. Attach a white edge for a fur coat to the lower edge of the body and sew it with the same white threads and the same stitches.

11. Let's fold the body of the gnome in the form of a small cone and sew this cone. To make the figure look more neat, we will sew with different threads. In the area of the body - with blue threads, and in the area of the edge - with white, and in the area of the cap - with red.

12. Take the blue details of the arms and the white details of the edge. Sew the details of the edge to the hands with white threads. Moreover, you need to ensure that they are sewn on the same level.

13. Fold the hand pieces together in two pieces and sew them with a buttonhole seam with blue threads. A hole must be left on each hand.

14. Take the padding material. It can be a synthetic winterizer, holofiber or some other material. Let's fill the gnome's torso and arms with this material.

15. Place the base cut out of blue felt into the lower part of the body and sew it with a buttonhole stitch with blue threads.

16. Sew the hole on the hands with the same blue threads.

17. Sew our gnome's hands, placing them on the sides of the body, slightly below the beard. Buttons need to be made on the front of the fur coat. To do this, take red sequins and red beads and sew them in front of the body, placing them in a vertical order.

18. Now our gnome needs to make a kind face. We will embroider a small mouth with pink threads, over it, with the same pink threads, we will sew a nose from a small pink bead, and above the nose we will sew two eyes from black smaller beads.

The fairy gnome is ready. He can be placed on a chest of drawers or on a mantelpiece - there he will be comfortable. You can sew a whole group of gnomes in multi-colored outfits - red, yellow, green, orange, etc.

After watching films about fairy elves and gnomes in the company of my eldest daughter, I came to the idea of creating such a stylish gnome for home decor. And children will certainly be delighted with this delightful toy!

In addition, there are less than 100 days before the New Year and Christmas, so why not start preparing, albeit slowly, but carefully, right now.

« So why not make a stylish craft out of it! " - I said and, thanking my friend for the advice, set to work. The best part is that it doesn't take much time to create such a decor, while the process and the result will take you headlong.

Editorial staff "So simple!" prepared 12 inspiring examples of fairy gnomes, which you can easily do with your own hands. And the manufacturing process itself can be viewed at the bottom of the article under examples of work. Happy viewing!

  8. Did you know that in Scandinavia these dwarfs are called Nissé. The Nisse live on the farms and help the farmers with their daily activities. In return, the nisse are asked for trust, respect and porridge, seasoned with a lot of butter, every Christmas.

  9. And such will become a wonderful decoration not only on the eve winter holidays, but also in the fall.

  10. The Norwegians say that it is the nisse gnomes who are "responsible" for the December holidays, and all because long ago their great-grandfather decided to have a little fun and put two coins in the bowl of the hungry girl.

    He liked this leprosy so much that the next year he decided to repeat it, and then he got involved, and away we go. His grateful descendants now also show people what kind of spruce should be cut down for Christmas, swinging on its top until the dull people finally turn their attention to the beauty.

A gnome with your own hands will turn out to be beautiful, funny, neat, if we do everything from high-quality materials and with soul.

There are many master classes on creating gnomes, this one is good because there is a minimum of sewing here, at least on a typewriter. Everything can be done using a regular needle and thread.

You will need:

  • material for twisting - the base of the body;
  • cloth for clothes;
  • fabric for the head;
  • stuffing (sintepon, etc.);
  • wooden bead for the nose;
  • cap;
  • decorations.

How to make a gnome's torso

The body of the gnome is made of dense material. I have this insulation for clothes - it is lightweight and resilient. But you can take any thick fabric - for example, a coat, from an old bedspread, blanket, etc. Thin cloth You can also use it, but it will take too much of it to twist.

Determine the height of the gnome. For a gnome with a height of 20 cm, you need to make a body of 10 cm. Cut off the strip from the material, try to keep it even - the stability of the toy depends on this.

We turn the strip into a roll. It should not be too thin, otherwise the gnome will fall. We fix the roll with threads or hot glue (faster).

Cut off one rectangle and a square from the fabric that was chosen for the gnome's clothes. The length of the rectangle should be such that it is possible to "wrap" the cylinder into it, and the square should be slightly larger than the bottom.

A very comfortable fabric for sewing is grass (pictured). It is light and fluffy, stitches and even seams in it are not visible at all. But you can use any other fabric that matches the color and texture.

We sew the bottom of the twist - we put a square of fabric on the bottom and fasten along the edges.

We wrap a rectangle of fabric around the roll. We not only sew a rectangle, but we also sew clothes to the base.

Here we have such a body - very stable.

How to make a gnome's head and beard

From a piece of fabric and padding polyester we form the head of a gnome toy. It should be big enough - 9-10 cm. Almost like a torso, later you will understand why. Note that the head must be pointed to support the cap.

The easiest way is to put a synthetic winterizer on a piece of fabric and tighten with a coarse thread. In this case, the node should be located at the back.

Cut out the gnome's beard from a piece of fur. 6-7 cm is enough.

Diy gnome - assembly

Sew the gnome's head to the body.

Sew the nose on the upper part of the body (not on the head!). I am sewing on a large wooden bead, but you can make a nose from a piece of fabric and filler (padding polyester, cotton wool, etc.). Simply make a ball by threading the edges of the fabric around the filler.

Sew on or glue on the beard. The upper part of the beard "hugs" the nose - in this way we mask the holes of the bead or thread with which the ball of fabric was sewn on.
