Handwriting analysis as a tool for human psychodiagnostics. Character by a person's handwriting - is it possible to determine its types Sharp handwriting character

Good day, dear readers. Today we will talk about how to recognize a character by handwriting. You will find out how to understand from the written text what a person is. You will know what criteria are taken into account when analyzing the written proposals. Find out how to determine a person's temperament, personality, appearance, and occupation from their handwriting. You will find out what the signature can talk about.

Techniques and characteristics

Graphological analysis allows you to learn a lot about a person, even something that he himself did not think about. And this contributes to certain changes, personality adjustment. If a person is overly emotional, it is easy to find out by the way he writes. For example, letters in words are tilted to the right, written with a small pressure. This indicates susceptibility to phobias. The emergence of any experience can knock you off balance.

You need to know that when writing, you can determine the character traits that have been characteristic of a person for a long time, in particular from childhood. If a person is in constant fear, then his handwriting will be jerky, incomprehensible, uneven, indicating a weakness of character. If a person is fixated on his phobias, closed in himself, then the spelling will be compressed, while the letters are located next to each other. If there are large distances between them, then the person has no fears.

Determining the character of a person, great attention is paid to the text. Mental fears are inherent in the owner of a small handwriting. Such a person is afraid of communication between people, a closed way of life is inherent in her, it is possible. If the handwriting is large, then the person is confident in himself, he is able to express his point of view, makes other people listen to his opinion.

If you pay special attention to the analysis of the letter, then you realize that graphology is not a pseudoscience. A person is able to independently analyze his handwriting. Even if it turns out that he has not very good character traits, this will contribute to the opportunity to critically assess himself, to correct his character.

Let's take a closer look at what the handwriting says about the character of the subject according to the first method.

  1. What does the slope indicate? This criterion indicates the attitude towards people, as well as the level of emotionality of the owner of the handwriting. With the vertical arrangement of letters, there is a calm character and overestimated self-esteem. If they are slightly tilted to the right - a good-natured personality, a gentle disposition. There is a strong tilt to the right, then you have an impetuous nature in front of you, which is constantly in a tense state. The letters are tilted to the left - a selfish person. Slightly turned to the left - touchy, vindictive personality.
  2. Consider pressure. This criterion indicates the emotions that prevail in a person. Strong pressure indicates an explosive character, constant experiences, weak pressure indicates weak-willedness, susceptibility to other people's influence.
  3. Types of handwriting. Careless - observed in realists, who are sometimes hot-tempered. Such persons quickly forgive insults, are carried away by creativity, skeptics by nature. If there is a rough, careless handwriting, then its owner is a sociable and generous person, but he is rarely lucky in life, there is nervousness. Small handwriting that is difficult to read is typical for shy people who find it difficult to overcome difficulties. Such persons have logical thinking, have talents, they are often uncommunicative, closed in themselves. Large handwriting is found in confident people, leaders. At the same time, they are characterized by gullibility.
  4. Distance between characters. When characters are next to each other, they indicate a straightforward personality with good intuition. A compact letter indicates the presence of an independent character. If there are few places in the text with gaps between letters, then this indicates the presence of spiritual harmony. If there are many gaps between the signs, then the person is dreamy, likes to attract attention. If this distance is completely insignificant, then you are in front of a friendly person, if the gaps are large, the person is afraid of new acquaintances.
  5. Angular handwriting indicates a critical mindset, a desire to compete, proving its worth. If the letters are round, then in front of you is a hospitable person who has amazing taste, as a rule, achieves his goals, while being quite selfish.
  6. The presence of curls. If they are present on the bottom of the letters and are small enough, then in front of you is a person who quickly adapts to changes, does not like lies in relationships. If the curl is present on only one sign, there is love for the family, a strong rapprochement with relatives. If the curls at the bottom and are wide, this characterizes the person as purposeful, aimed at communication and material well-being. If the curl is on the bottom, but large enough, this indicates a lazy person with no hobbies. If there is a large curl both below and above, then the person is quite freedom-loving.
  7. The presence of calligraphic handwriting indicates a neat, sensitive person who is a good family man. However, at the same time, there may be self-doubt and a need for a listener.
  8. Pointed handwriting indicates a combination with intelligence, while there is indifference to people.
  9. Large sweeping handwriting indicates a proud person who wants to come first. At the same time, he can also be a romantic, quickly forget grievances.
  10. The printed handwriting indicates low self-esteem, painful perception of criticism.
  11. Changeable - to changeable mood.

The second technique is objective for subjects aged 25 to 45 years - this is the period with the most stable psychophysical personality characteristics. For diagnostics, not one, but several sheets of handwriting are examined. The fact is that on the first page, the person, as a rule, writes constrainedly, on the next - relaxes, the handwriting becomes more natural. The last pages are the most informative.

  1. The appearance of the sheet. If the owner is greedy, then the sheets will be dirty greasy. If kind, pedantic, then clean.
  2. Inspection of fields. Narrow ones indicate frugality, too tight - to stinginess, wide - to openness, too spacious - to arrogance, the desire to be rich.
  3. The size of the letters. It should be borne in mind that as one and the same person ages, the size of letters will increase, as vision deteriorates. If we consider the general characteristics, then small letters will indicate a closed character, medium ones - to the norm, and large letters - to leadership qualities and sociability.
  4. Characteristic of a capital letter. If it somehow stands out, then the author is not confident in his own abilities, is too susceptible to someone else's influence, tries to attract attention to himself. If the capital letter is small, then there is inner stiffness.
  5. Pressure. The intensity of the pressure indicates the presence of experiences in the subject, the stronger, the more of them.
  6. Strings. Wavy ones indicate mood swings, deceit in actions; equal - on a sober outlook on life, a sound assessment of their own capabilities. If, when writing, the line rises up, then in front of you is an optimist, if it slides down, then the owner of low self-esteem.
  7. Signature:
  • normal - indicates confidence;
  • with underlining - for resourcefulness;
  • curls - discernment;
  • the presence of a frame - shyness, susceptibility to phobias;
  • crossed out - explosive.

Appearance and occupation by handwriting

It turns out, holding a sheet of paper with written text in your hands, you can determine exactly how its owner looks like.

  1. Low growth is indicated by elongated letters that seem sweeping. On high - unstretched letters that are written at the same level. For medium height - the compactness of letters at the beginning of the line, at the end they become less frequent, while the last letters can go down below the line.
  2. Slenderness is indicated by finely written signs, elongated letters. For completeness - uneven pressure on one, or the symbol is not at all finished.
  3. Fair-haired people have illegible writing, medium-sized characters. For brunettes - diligent removal of elements, the lines can go up.

By the way the text is written, you can also identify the intended occupation.

  1. Businessmen, as a rule, have sloppy handwriting, while pharmacists have uneven handwriting.
  2. For people associated with the philological sciences - jumping and abrupt.
  3. Professors and mental workers have many touches.
  4. Descending handwriting is characteristic of philosophers and poets.
  5. Engineers and mathematicians tend to write letters easily without tilting.
  6. For creative people - wavy handwriting.

Definition of personal qualities

The character of a person can be determined by handwriting, knowing what traits, how they are manifested.

  1. Hot temper. Letters and lines will go up, hooks in letters go down below lines.
  2. Mind. There are decorative elements. There is practically no slope, the distance between words is the same, the average size of the letters.
  3. Equilibrium. The lines are straight, the handwriting is beautiful, at first it may seem illegible.
  4. Sensitivity. The letters are unfinished, but not all, the pressure will be uneven, the pallor of the letters, a slight slope.
  5. Stupidity. There are incomprehensible hooks between words, the distance will differ, the pressure is uneven, the capital letters are not like the rest, the original, the letter looks pretentious.
  6. Composure. The writing of the lines will be jagged. However, the last word will definitely be in its place. In this case, the letters will be neat with the distance between the words different.
  7. Cruelty. Some letters have underlining, they look bold, rough, diligently written.

Signature

Sometimes it is difficult to analyze handwriting, and there are also ambiguous results. In such situations, when researching, it is better to analyze the signature of the subject.

  1. The simpler it is, the more confident the subject is.
  2. The presence of squiggles, loops indicates observation and cunning.
  3. The presence of a variety of elements - for originality.
  4. Curls and strokes indicate resourcefulness, resourcefulness, and a vivid imagination.
  5. Strikethrough signature - impulsive character.
  6. Underlining a signature indicates an entrepreneurial spirit. Moreover, if the line goes to the beginning, then there is a selfish person who does not know how to trust anyone.
  7. The signature, which is in the center of the circle, indicates shyness of character.
  8. The coincidence of the first letter with the surname of the signature holder indicates a healthy assessment of one's own capabilities, modesty of character.
  9. If the first letter of the signature stands out strongly, this is an indicator of ambition and narcissism, the inability to concentrate.
  10. Waves and zigzags - for a cheerful disposition.
  11. The upward signature indicates optimism.
  12. Horizontal - for prudence and confidence.
  13. Going down - to isolation.
  14. The period ending in the signature indicates discipline.

The culture

Your handwriting can tell about more than 500 character traits.

According to a study by the company National Pen Company in the United States, letter size, letter spacing, letter shape, and other signs may indicate different personality traits.

Handwriting analysis or graphology even used as a lie detector and to identify possible health problems.

Graphology is considered a pseudoscience, since there is not enough evidence how accurately it determines the psychological and physical characteristics of a person. However, some companies use graphology in their recruiting process, and these techniques are also used in court cases.

Personality by handwriting

According to research, handwriting size can tell you which personality type you are.

1. Handwriting size:

- Fine handwriting - speaks of a shy or withdrawn, diligent and scrupulous character.

- Medium handwriting - speaks of poise and the ability to easily adapt to a new environment and people.

What else can you tell by handwriting?

- High blood pressure - Writing with varying degrees of pressure can be one of the signs of high blood pressure, especially if you start writing lightly and end with strong pressure.

- Schizophrenia - when the slope often changes within a sentence or word, this may indicate a lack of constant contact with reality and indicate schizophrenia.

- Parkinson's disease - very fine, compressed handwriting known as microphagia. Sometimes the handwriting can be so small that even the author himself cannot read it.

- Alzheimer's disease - handwriting deteriorates as mental abilities deteriorate. Handwriting may become irregular, altered letters, and shaky writing. The letter starts to slow down.

January 23 is World Handwriting Day. After talking with graphologists and doing a little research of her own, the website's correspondent Margarita Maslova found out what can be said about a person by his handwriting, how graphology differs from handwriting studies, and why handwriting is beneficial for emotional health.

How handwriting is formed

According to experts, handwriting is formed from early childhood: in the elementary grades, a child learns writing skills, by the age of 13-14, handwriting acquires individual characteristics and by the age of 18-20 it is completely formed.

Expert opinion

Primary school affects handwriting only in terms of developing the writing skill - this skill is developed and consolidated in us, but over time the child brings it to automatism and no longer makes sure that the letters are outlined the way they were taught in the copybook.

Usually from this moment teachers begin to say that the handwriting has "deteriorated". In fact, he simply stopped being stereotyped and began to reflect individual character traits. Handwriting is influenced by the very nature of a person. At the same time, personal characteristics are reflected in the handwriting only after this skill has reached automatism.

Larisa Drygval

As the site was told by forensic expert, graphologist Sergei Sergeev, from the age of 18-20 a person forms the so-called dynamic stereotype of handwriting. If you analyze manuscripts made before this period, the data will be characterized by immaturity, since before this time the handwriting had not yet been completely formed. According to the expert, you can learn to write, but you cannot unlearn it, even in spite of the dictatorship of the computer era.

In the 90s, scientists conducted an experiment: the experiments were associated with changes in personal characteristics and handwriting under the influence of hypnosis. By means of suggestion, the subjects were returned to the age when a person was just learning to write - the handwriting instantly became childish and insecure. A similar process took place when a person was introduced into a state of a more mature age - then the handwriting acquired individual characteristics, became more confident and fluent.

Above - handwriting at the age of 27 in a normal state, below - the handwriting of the same person under hypnosis (self-awareness at the age of 10).

What can be said by handwriting

Everyone writes what he breathes - this is exactly what graphologists say. Handwriting is a projection of the inner world, temperament and character of a person, his relationship to the external environment and the people around him. It is a mirror of our personality, reflecting the stages of its development. As the graphologist Sergei Sergeev noted, handwriting can give a full-fledged psychological characteristic and say a lot about intelligence, motivation, type of thinking, self-awareness and self-esteem. You can also identify the presence of fears, complexes or mental disorders.

Expert opinion: handwriting in dynamics

Handwriting is a dynamic process that is directly related to the nervous system and the brain. The hand is a tool with which we reflect our thoughts. Each of us consists of contradictions: our mental, nervous and creative components are constantly changing.

Much here depends on the mood, age and state of health of the person, the external environment and the conditions in which this or that text was written. With a competent analysis, it is necessary to take into account all these factors, which is why it is advisable for a specialist to provide several handwriting samples taken at different intervals.

Usually, people write text in free mode and submit it for analysis along with other samples - for example, drafts written several years ago.

Sergey Sergeev

Larisa Drygval, head of the Handwriting Research Center of the Institute of Graphic Analysis, Inessa Goldberg, noted that the key advantage of graphological analysis over other types of analysis is as follows: graphology allows one to give a comprehensive assessment of the personality as soon as possible. A person does not need to waste time on multiple visits to a psychoanalyst, answer questions and fill out questionnaires - it is enough just to bring two or three A4 sheets of paper written by hand for examination. This is a fairly simple method of knowing yourself.

What cannot be determined by handwriting

Handwriting can say a lot, but not everything. Three main things that handwriting is unlikely to reflect:

  • Floor. It is impossible to determine whether the text was written by a man or a woman. However, in graphology, there are concepts such as gender male and female handwriting types. As the graphologist Sergei Sergeev noted, the female type is characterized by roundness and arcuateness, the male type is angular and arcaic. (inverted bowl shape)... At the same time, both women and men may have a handwriting that is opposite to their sex. This may indicate the predominance of the masculine principle in the character of a woman (straightforwardness, assertiveness, rationalism), and in a man - a feminine one (emotionality, sociability, intuition).

  • Profession. It is impossible to determine by handwriting who exactly a person works, but it is possible to identify personal qualities inherent in a particular field of activity. For example, openness and sociability are characteristic of people in the humanitarian profession, restraint and an analytical mindset - for people of technical specialties. Moreover, both those and other qualities can be successfully used in both options. As a rule, creative people are characterized by fluency of writing, and enterprising people are characterized by a predominance of sharp forms. However, it is very important to take into account other characteristics of handwriting, otherwise the analysis will be superficial.

  • Actions. Graphological analysis can only determine the properties and tendencies of a person to any actions, but not the actions themselves. Handwriting can speak of a propensity for aggression, but not the ability to kill or rob; about sensuality - but not about the ability to kiss the first comer.

Expert Opinion: Why Handwriting Is Helpful

Handwriting fully activates different parts of the brain: while writing a text by hand, there is a good coordination of the left and right hemispheres. Unlike other methods of transmitting information, it is handwriting that can develop a personality. Why is it very important to teach a child this skill in childhood? Because handwriting is a development that is important at the early stage of personality formation.

A person can also continue self-development through handwriting as an adult. When we write on paper, we live through the written not only analytically, but also emotionally. When we print, there is no such synergy effect. The printed text can quickly fade from memory, while manuscripts become part of ourselves and remain with us for a long time.

Therefore, creative people very often write down some things by hand, so it is easier for them to catch inspiration. Typing on a computer coarsens our emotional state.

Why do you need graphology

Today graphology is actively used in forensic and psychotherapeutic practice. Forensic experts help to establish the identity of a person, other experts - to better know themselves or decide on the choice of a profession. In this context, it is important to understand the difference between graphology, aimed at analyzing personality characteristics through the prism of handwriting, and handwriting, aimed at examining the writing skills directly without any conclusions about a psychological portrait.

Expert opinion: Graphology and handwriting studies

IN CRIMINALISM:

In forensics, handwriting studies are more involved than graphology. Handwriting identifies handwriting: on the basis of a comparative analysis, it helps to conclude whether what was written by the same person or not.

Handwriting is used to establish identity. Graphology, on the other hand, allows you to determine a psychological portrait - in forensic science, it can give secondary meanings for detecting a person who is wanted.

SCRIPT AND SIGNATURE:

In handwriting, handwriting and signature are considered two independent objects, equally informative. In graphology, they are informative only when considered together. A signature is a business card that speaks of how a person wants to appear.

The signature is an image that may not correspond to the real mental content. Moreover, a person can have multiple signatures. From a graphological point of view, handwriting provides more detailed information than a signature.

Sergey Sergeev

forensic expert, graphologist, handwriting expert

As noted by the candidate of psychological sciences, graphologist Larisa Drygval, graphology is only a method of psychodiagnostics through handwriting, therefore, ideally, a good graphologist should be a professional psychologist who has undergone professional retraining courses at specialized institutes, which should take at least one and a half years.

According to her, the main feature of a graphologist is the desire for knowledge. The specialist must be as impartial as possible. For the client, he should not have any sympathy or affection. Each person has its own pros and cons, and the task of a graphologist is to understand the balance of these characteristics, so as not to exaggerate some and not level others.

Expert opinion: who comes to the graphologist and why

Most often, people come to a graphologist to understand themselves - in their inner world, in their states. People are trying to know themselves and improve their lives in a qualitative way. Graphological analysis can help to understand the causes of problems with work or personal relationships.

People also often turn to a graphologist for vocational guidance. Often on this occasion, parents of children entering universities come so that the choice of the institution would be related to the inclinations of the child and not be compulsory.

Clients over 30 years old who have already graduated, worked in their specialty and understand that this is not their profession - consultations with a graphologist help them to better understand themselves and find something that would really meet their abilities and desires.

Larisa Drygval

We interpret handwriting correctly: life hacks from graphologists

For graphological analysis to be complete, experts recommend adhering to the following conditions when writing text:

  • The manuscript should be done on a blank A4 sheet without lining;
  • Be sure to write with a blue ballpoint pen on a flat surface, at least three more sheets must be placed under the paper - this will make it possible to take into account such characteristics as pressure;
  • The text should be arbitrary: when rewriting ready-made phrases or quoting, a person will have more control over himself. For graphological analysis, the freedom of writing is important, which more clearly reflects the internal and unconscious processes;
  • A pair of phrases is not enough for a full analysis. Ideally, at least two or three A4 sheets should be covered;
  • It is desirable that a specialist have handwriting samples for different periods of time. This will allow taking into account the dynamics of personality development and separating permanent factors (mood, poor health) from unchanging personal characteristics.

After a correctly executed sample has been received, you can proceed directly to the interpretation of what was written. There are several basic handwriting characteristics to consider when analyzing it:

  • Shape / height / width: can talk about the relationship of the individual with the inner and outer worlds;
  • Pressure: shows the degree of energy of a person;
  • Movement, writing fluency: talks about the speed of mental processes;
  • Continuity: indicates a sequence of actions;
  • Tilt: talks about the movement of emotions;
  • Uniformity: constancy / inconsistency of personality traits;
  • Barcode formation: help in drawing up a psychological portrait;
  • Use of space on paper: gravitation towards the past / future, conscious / unconscious;
  • String shapes: can tell a lot about a person's temperament.
As examples, graphologist Sergey Sergeev cited rounded handwriting (arc elements of forms - openness, cheerfulness, emotions, feelings), large (extroversion, solidity, self-confidence), small (introversion, fatigue), fast writing speed, which speaks of a person's flexibility, and slow speed, which may indicate a stubborn character.

An interesting example would be the natural calligraphic handwriting of an adult who writes like this all the time (important: moments when people deliberately try to write beautifully, for example, making postcards or filling out documents, are not counted). According to graphologists, the regular striving for stylization may indicate an excessive concentration on the form, and not on the content. As Sergeev noted, if a person writes stylized all the time, he can be secretive and constantly keep himself within the framework, trying to demonstrate to the environment that everything in his life is perfect.

In preparing this publication, the book "Handwriting and Personality" by Dmitry Zuev-Insarov was used.

Modern technologies and the development of computer systems have practically supplanted handwritten texts, which used to be the main part of the documentation. Today, a huge number of records and documents are filled in and stored in electronic versions, so some people believe that soon modern technologists will replace office supplies altogether, in the form of notebooks, pens and pencils. Despite this, most legal documents are kept in hard copy, and certain information and signatures are filled in only by hand.

At a time when everything was written by hand, it was even possible to recognize the character and manners of a person by handwriting, which made it possible to achieve success not only in acquaintance, but also in the search for dangerous criminals. Is it possible today to determine the mores and character of a person by his handwriting? How to do it correctly? What should you pay attention to while doing this?

Handwriting as a source of information

In order to add up the big picture and idea of the person you just met, you just need to ask him to write a couple of lines with a regular pen or pencil. After that, having mastered some simple skills and techniques, you can say a lot about who is in front of you.

What properties and features of handwriting will be a source of information indicating the character and morals of a particular person?

  • Incline. If a person's handwriting has a slight bias, this often indicates his dedication and a high attitude towards his own opinion, regardless of what others think. Such a person also has a habit of criticizing and even finding fault with minor mistakes or oversights. A strong slope of handwriting can also be an indicator of a domineering personality, who is used to insisting on her own opinion in everything. Also, a strong slope suggests that a man with this type of handwriting is an amorous and romantic nature. And handwriting without any bias is a vivid evidence that its owner is a rare stubborn, but often shows prudence and discernment in his decisions.
  • Width of fields. If the writing person leaves narrow margins, then this speaks of his greed and picky. And wide margins are an indicator of an open and generous soul, which also loves to enjoy everyone's attention and praise from others. Such a person is also distinguished by the desire for luxury and increased comfort.
  • The direction of the line. Straight lines distinguish a frank and conscientious person who realistically evaluates his capabilities and the reality around him. A line running upwards is evidence of optimism and even an overly inflated opinion about oneself, and going downwards often shows that a person is closed and does not see anything good in the present and future. Dancing wavy lines are an indicator of a rich imagination and even a tendency to lie, which often remains harmless for others.
  • Pressure. Light or light pressure is characteristic of romantic people and dreamers who are distinguished by an easy and superficial attitude towards life and difficult circumstances. Strong handwriting pressure is an indicator of the user's activity and determination. He is often passionate and hardworking.

Certain features of handwriting indicating character

Although the basic principles and rules associated with handwriting and allowing them to determine a person's mores are listed above, some of the nuances deserve special attention. One of them concerns the shape of the letters that the owner of the handwriting draws out with a pen. The main forms of letters by which haratkeri and temper are determined are:

  • Roundness. This form speaks of the user's peaceful disposition, as well as his compliance and gentleness. It is not only pleasant to communicate with such a person, but also to solve various, even rather complicated issues.
  • Angularity. Angular letters are a vivid testimony to the deep pride of the owner of the handwriting. It is not easy to build permanent or close relationships with such a person, and during conflict situations, it is difficult to establish peace.
  • Sharpness. The letters, the tips of which are clearly pointed, indicate that a person is not too interested in the point of view of others, because he is sure only that he is right. The owner of such a handwriting does not accept advice and morality, considering himself to be right in everything.

All these and some other principles for determining character and disposition by handwriting have been tested and tested in practice. Knowing them, you can, without making a close friendship or acquaintance, already form a definite opinion about the person who is in front of you, and also not allow you to be misled by feigned modesty or other qualities.

This material will undoubtedly arouse professional interest among those who are an employee of the personnel department, or, according to circumstances (if necessary), perform the functions of a personnel manager of their company.
For others, this is a great opportunity to find a reflection of their personal qualities in what they have to do every day, and perhaps discover something new for themselves.

The value of this article is determined by the fact that everything that will be said below has been confirmed (or refuted) in the work of our Agency.
Thus, we offer you real examples from our practice.

Among the sources of psychological analysis of the employee's personality, a special place is occupied by statements and reports, complaints and proposals prepared in handwritten form.

Based on these and other documents, the manager, whether it is a personnel worker or another specialist in working with personnel, can draw a conclusion not only about the level of literacy of the employee, but also about his ability to express his thoughts, convey his own feelings and state.

Graphologists argue that handwriting helps to reveal the individual characteristics of a person.

It has long been noticed that handwriting is as noticeably different from each other, as is the individual nature of people, as is their fingerprints. Let's remember how we easily recognize some handwriting: when we see the boss's visa on the incoming document, or when we receive a letter from a friend. By one painting or a few words, we already unmistakably identify the author.

Of course, there is a temptation to learn by handwriting and the whole inner nature of a person ...

Immediately it is necessary to make a reservation that:

  • firstly, graphology allows you to get probabilistic conclusions, and not one hundred percent statements;
  • secondly, the analysis of handwriting provides a general assessment of the mental makeup of a person, and not precise characteristics of its individual properties;
  • thirdly, it is believed that a graphologist should have at least one page of text and, even better, if there is an opportunity to study several texts written in different situations and at different times.

So what is handwriting analysis for? Most often, a cadre worker is required by handwriting to determine the main character traits and temperament, as well as the abilities and characteristics of the employee's mental states. This allows you to more accurately assess his suitability for the position or type of activity. Sometimes knowledge of graphology helps in professional self-determination of a person, choosing a profession or changing it. But the analysis of the handwriting of a superior leader makes it possible to determine his psychological characteristics and correctly build relationships with him. Finally, taking a close look at your writing style and constructively evaluating your mental makeup will certainly help you better build interpersonal relationships with those around you.

It is important to remember that no sign in handwriting should be regarded as absolute dogma. It must be compared with other signs in order to detect confirmation of a particular character trait or the presence of signs of personality contradiction.

So, let's move on to assessing the personality according to the elements of handwriting.

General characteristics of handwriting

Smooth handwriting speaks of willpower, composure and calmness.

Emotionally unstable subjects or alcohol abusers show trembling handwriting.

Manic patients write boldly, and the size of the letters increases as they write.

In mentally abnormal patients, written speech, as well as oral, is fragmentary and incoherent. They have special turns, an abundance of diminutive words, verbosity, the absence or a peculiar arrangement of punctuation marks.

Introverts have compact and neat handwriting, while extroverts write in large, sweeping letters.

It has been noticed who writes letters sometimes rudely, sometimes beautifully, perhaps, and behaves differently in life.

Incline

About 20-30 degrees to the right. This is the most common handwriting slant. Such a person can be described as openly expressing feelings. At the same time, he cannot be called an impulsive person. He still has the ability to control his emotions in stressful situations. Such a person usually has well-developed needs for communication and loneliness usually weighs on him.

About 50-60 degrees to the right. A strong tilt to the right indicates a loving nature and a strong desire for communication. Such a person is more likely to seek to show their feelings on display than to suppress them within themselves. A person with such a handwriting is more receptive to new ideas and beginnings and is distinguished by great vitality.

At the same time, such people have more developed possessive moods, they are more fond of flattery and admiration for their nature.

Slight tilt to the left. With a high degree of probability, it can be argued about such a person that he is characterized by the predominance of mind control over emotions. This person is more secretive and tries to rationally evaluate his actions.

Significant tilt to the left. This handwriting is often characteristic of left-handed people. This is where you have more control over your emotions. The secrecy characteristic of this person can be combined with a great sensitivity that can only be revealed to the closest people. In stressful situations, such a person can, unexpectedly for others, explode into a storm of emotional manifestations.

If the handwriting is vertical, it means that the personality is characterized by a balance of rationality and emotionality. For such a person, analysis of the situation and balanced decision-making are characteristic.

If, during the analysis of handwriting, you find periodic or unsystematic changes in the inclination of the handwriting, then this may indicate a low psychological stability of a person, about a sharp change in his mood. Probably inconsistency and picky about trifles.

Sometimes a periodic change in the slope of the handwriting may indicate some indecision of a given person.

Handwriting without sloping letters indicates that a person has fundamental considerations that are fundamentally different from the opinions of others.
The slope of the letters to the right speaks of diligence, to the left - of negativity, a tendency to resist.

Pressing letters

In modern conditions, when a huge variety of writing media has appeared (fountain pens (ink, ballpoint, drip, gel), pencils, felt-tip pens, etc.), it is difficult to diagnose the pressure of the analyzed letter. At the same time, if there is such an opportunity, it should not be missed. What can handwriting pressure say?

Strong pressure with a high probability speaks of energy, perseverance and good performance, the desire to always occupy oneself with something, including physical activities.

He is predominantly a sociable person, he loves work related to human contacts. He seeks to satisfy the material side of his life. He tries to overcome failures, but does not "fixate" on them.

Light, superficial pressure. A person with such a handwriting is a delicate and sensitive nature.

This is more of an introvert (a person concentrated on the phenomena of the inner world). A critical mind and high self-control enable him to cope with tasks of great importance. However, this requires doubled energy and tension from him.

Medium pressure. This handwriting is the most common, and it usually has ambiverts (people who are aimed at knowing the external world, but at the same time attaching great importance to internal, personal values). They are easier to understand and more predictable.

Combining pressure with other handwriting characteristics

Light pressure with even letters also testifies to a logical mind and rational thinking, a high development of moral qualities, commitment and discipline of a person.

Light pressure and large rounded letters indicate a certain weak-willed person, his non-aggressiveness, altruism and a tendency to cooperate.

Strong pressure when writing capital letters or abbreviations in the text can indicate a person's energy, creativity or leadership.

Horizontal arrangement of lines

The line to the end of the page remains horizontal. This is a balanced person who does not get upset from minor troubles, whether at work or at home. He carefully considers his actions and controls the manifestations of his emotions.

The line goes up. This is believed to be evidence of optimism. In terms of career, such a person is purposeful. Above average adaptability to both physical and social environments. When the line strongly runs upward, this may indicate unjustified optimism and unreality of claims.

The line goes down. A man of a skeptical plan. Perhaps he is simply characterized by a real assessment of the events taking place.

The line is uneven, going up and down. This is a person with a changeable mood, with low adaptability, who can not fully cope with work that requires careful adherence to established rules and sustained attention.

Roundness of letters

The pronounced roundness of the letters may indicate that a person with this type of handwriting is open to cooperation. He is not inclined to be persistent in approving his plans and positions. He is more open to understanding.

At the same time, such people are worse at coping with activities that require aggressive displays and perseverance.

The angular letters of the text are signs that their author is predisposed to adversarial and rivalry. Such people are more active, independent, have a critical mind and ambitious aspirations.

Distance between words and lines

Most often, the dense arrangement of words indicates a person's frugality.
As the distance between words increases, the tendency to waste increases.

Amount of fields left

It is believed that the size of the margins in handwritten text is an additional indicator that allows you to determine the degree of extravagance of a person.
Wide margins on all sides of the sheet indicate good taste and an instinctive craving for exquisite things.

If the margins rationally surround the text, then this is evidence in favor of prudence.
Even narrow margins on the left and right may indicate that a person is prone to the manifestation of frugality and reasonable prudence.

If the entire sheet is occupied with text, and there are no or almost no fields, then this is an indicator of a person's desire to squeeze the maximum out of the available opportunities.

Graphologists also see the hidden meaning in the topography of the text. For example, good performers organize the text clearly and very rarely transfer words. Such people are unlikely to show a creative approach to work, but they will never deviate from instructions and prescriptions.

Handwriting can betray a person's weaknesses, such as alcohol addiction and mental illness.

People with abnormalities tend to write in "bouncing letters" of different sizes. Their handwriting is difficult to read and is often full of curls.

Size of letters

Small letters. Such letters indicate a person's ability to concentrate in any one direction in deeds, thoughts, affections. This is a reserved, non-aggressive person.

If in small handwriting, capital letters are disproportionately large compared to uppercase letters, this speaks of a person's personal pride and courage, that is, that a person has some character traits that are unlike his usual nature.
If in such a handwriting the capital letters are too small (relative to the capital letters), then the person does not have enough courage, confidence, and one can often speak of excessive modesty, which turns into a disadvantage.

The "cramped" small handwriting, difficult to read, says that we are facing an extremely secretive person who loves to spend time alone.

Large letters. Such a person is characterized by expansiveness, in some cases aggressiveness. Typically, such a handwriting indicates aversion to a subordinate role (both in personal and business life), shows that a person likes to insist on his own. This person strives for sociability, so work that is associated with interpersonal contacts is suitable for him.

If the capital letters in large handwriting are graceful, not like others, this means that the person is able to command and attract other people. Such people are prone to romance.

Medium sized letters. Medium-sized letters are typical for many handwritings, so the average letter size cannot serve as an independent indicator for a graphologist, and must be compared with other features.

Capital letters that are too large indicate a personality's leadership makings.

Using block letters instead of writing

This means moving towards new views.

If a person changes his handwriting style, starts to write in block letters, he is in a state of transition from traditional to modern ideas.

The presence of loops

"Loops" are found in the letters "v", "d", "z", "y", "c", "u".

The lower hinges have been removed. Such a person has independent thinking, he prefers to look for a simple explanation for everything, does not tolerate falsehood, appreciates people for their achievements. Such a person shows ingenuity in a new business and knows how to adapt to a changed situation.

Lower narrow loop. This is a sign of careful thinking, striving for spiritual goals. A sign of love for the family hearth, a desire to stick to your narrow circle of relatives.

Bottom long wide loop. Aspirations aimed at satisfying material needs and emotions. A person loves to be noticed.
Disproportionately large bottom loop. Doesn't like to be attached to business. The longer and wider the loop, the more sociable a person is, the more he strives for variety and pleasure.

Disproportionately small top and bottom loops. A person does not dare to embark on the path of independence, if necessary, he can limit himself to the smallest.

Gaps between letters

There are gaps between letters in almost every word. Such a person tends to rely on intuition; he has a well-developed "flair". This feature must be correlated with others.

The letters are connected without tearing the handle in the process of writing words. A sign of a logical mind. Such a person does not take anything for granted and tries to avoid surprises.

The size of letters throughout the letter

The word starts with large letters that turn into small letters. This decrease in letters occurs in people who occupy a position that requires special attention to keeping tact and keeping secrets.

The word starts with small letters that turn into large letters (or the end of the word turns into a straight or wavy line). People who do not know how to keep secrets write this way.

"Open" (as if unfinished) letters "a", "b", "d", "o", "f", "i". The more open the letters, the more sociable a person is. "Closed" letters indicate a person's restraint.

Person's signature

Is the signature a mirror of a person's soul or an illusion for others?
It is often said that all the strengths or weaknesses of human nature are crystallized in the signature. Is it true?

Of course, to a large extent the image that a person creates for others is expressed in his signature.

For analysis, it is better to use a signature affixed on non-lined paper.
Over the years of a person's life, as a rule, several signatures are developed: one of them is his natural signature, which is used in private correspondence, the second is for the approval of business papers.

In the case when a person uses only one type of signature, we can talk about the natural naturalness of his behavior.

The slope in the signature, which differs from the slope in the rest of the text, indicates the differences between the inner world of a person and his external appearance.

The signature tilted back means that the intellect is in control of emotions.
If a person writes with a tilt back, and the signature tilts to the right, a person is characterized by prudence, the head completely controls his heart, but he is friendly and sensitive.

If in small handwriting with simple letters we have a signature with large letters, then a person is trying to depict the presence of a broad nature, which he actually does not possess.

With too fanciful letters in the signature, one can say that a person strives to create a deceptive impression of himself as a proud man.

The presence of a dot behind the signature is a sign of stubbornness, sometimes - increased alertness. If the period is bold, then it can be a sign of a challenge. Also, a heavy line under the signature testifies to the challenge.

The long straight line under the signature is also important in the analysis. A line drawn with light pressure indicates a possessive, assertive character, that aspirations are associated with ideal goals. Strong pressure tells us about the pursuit of material goals and recognition.

If you see two vertical dashes on a line below your signature in the center of a dash, they can be a sign of good business sense.

A graceful line is an indicator of romanticism, such a person loves a refined life, easily succumbs to flattery.

The more angularity in the dash, the more decisiveness, strength of character, and ambition of a person are manifested.

The dash, which is a continuation of the last letter, often speaks of a person's perseverance, his ability to stand up for himself.

A "jammed", obscure signature suggests that the person is not a leader.

The signature, gradually rising up, indicates that the person is an optimist and has an energetic character. For insecure people, it goes down. Horizontal signature is typical for balanced people.

The signature, which begins with the letter of the name, is put by thoughtful and responsible people. Curls speak of a person's lust for power and egocentrism.

Dear colleagues!

We sincerely hope that this material will help you in your work. And it will become a little easier for you to determine how initiative, accurate, ambitious, efficient, organized, etc. a person is by evaluating the questionnaire he filled out by hand.

As we have repeatedly seen from our own experience, handwriting helps to reveal the real characteristics of a person, sometimes refuting the first impression when meeting.

One day, a respectable man came to the agency who applied for the position of financial director. He behaved quite adequately. But here's the handwriting! ..
During the professional testing, the applicant unexpectedly "failed" and asked the recruiter to sing a romance instead of answering the questions.

Good luck to you!
