What is facial peeling, who needs it and for what problems? Recommendations for choosing a peeling if you have problem skin Why and when do peeling

Among the procedures necessary to preserve beauty and youth, face peeling is distinguished. According to the assurances of cosmetologists, it helps to smooth wrinkles, eliminates blemishes, eliminates problems with rashes. But what needs to be considered in order for the process to meet expectations?

What is the essence of the peeling procedure

Whichever type of peeling you choose, the principle remains the same: a layer of dead cells is removed from the face, which returns smoothness and health to the integument. Peels also reduce wrinkles and prevent the formation of new ones. When you remove dead layers, the skin's regeneration processes are accelerated. As a result, its texture is improved, the color is evened out. The only problem that skin peeling won't solve is the presence of scars.

The first procedures that cosmetologists undertook caused disappointment among the beauties: since the products were aggressive, the result was redness or inflammation. It was necessary to take into account before peeling the face that this would require not leaving the house for a week: the injured integument needed to be protected from environmental influences.

As a result, beauticians abandoned deep and aggressive cleansing in favor of a series of gentle exfoliation procedures (the so-called removal of dead cells). But the head of the Australian clinic, Dr. Joseph Hkeikik, argues that the powerful effects are not as invasive as before. Facial exfoliation by a beautician or at home will not irritate or itch in most cases, so choose a procedure that suits you.

Chemical types of peels: what to expect

Chemical peels produced with acids are in demand. Oxyacids are used in salons:

  • glycolic;
  • apple;
  • dairy.

Combined with salicylic, which is included in the formula of most formulations, they produce a gentle exfoliation. Cleansing peeling means that the beautician treats the skin with a solution that acts on the intercellular junctions: the dead layers are exfoliated and the surface is smoothed.

Acids are used in combination and separately. Cosmetologist Christina Snow, who works for True Solutions International, says: "For first-time peeling customers, we recommend the classic version - glycolic acid." It removes wrinkles and triggers collagen production in the skin, which gives a long-lasting rejuvenation effect. You can learn more about the procedure and rules for carrying out glycol peeling by watching the following video:

Salicylic acid is added to glycolic acid: the latter acts on the surface layers, enhancing the effect of other components. What does face peeling give in this case? It provides comprehensive rejuvenation and eliminates breakouts. Cosmetologist Dr. James Vivian explains: “Salicylic acid reduces inflammation and kills harmful bacteria. It also increases the skin's resistance to UV radiation. As the component removes cells from the surface layer, the rest of the peeling ingredients penetrate deeper. "

Lactic acid is used for exfoliation and moisturizing. It stimulates the body's production of hyaluronic acid, which is essential for skin firmness. Under its action, the integument produces fats that create a natural barrier on the surface: it allows you to retain moisture in the dermis. The component is recommended for clients with fading and overdried integuments, and it is applied to the entire skin or to certain areas. The facial peeling procedure can be supplemented with injections of vitamin A, which enhances the anti-aging effect.

In order for the doctor to make a suitable mix, contact proven salons: the procedure should be carried out by an experienced dermatologist-cosmetologist.

What you have to do: step-by-step description

While the steps may vary, the process is as follows:

  1. During the preliminary visit, the patient, together with the doctor, selects the appropriate option.
  2. On the day of the procedure, the skin is treated with a special composition. He is selected taking into account the characteristics of the condition and the goals that the patient wants to achieve. After application, a tingling sensation appears, and the intensity depends on the depth of cleansing.
  3. The active substance is washed off, the doctor applies a sedative and, if necessary, makes cold compresses.

The specialist is obliged to explain the specifics of care during the recovery period, and, depending on the condition of the skin, appoint a time for a second visit.

Latest trends in the field of cosmetology

The fashion for naturalness has spread to the field of beauty: companies are developing additional formulations with natural extracts. Cosmetic chains offer a series of extracts of the following plants:

  • wheat containing soft enzymes;
  • blueberries, which gently affect the integument and saturate with vitamins;
  • papaya, which enhances the exfoliating effect.

This option will cost more, but you will like the result.

Who is the peeling procedure suitable for?

Usually, the effect is better in people with fair skin and hair, and for clients with dark skin, the beautician will select a special exfoliation, taking into account the type of problem. Chemical peeling of the skin for beauties with a high content of melanin in the cells can lead to the appearance of spots on the face, so the qualification of the master remains a prerequisite.

Although exfoliation will relieve fine wrinkles, it is powerless for deep folds and ptosis. You can get rid of them thanks to fillers and lifting.

At what age can face peeling be done? The answer depends on the type of problem. Teenagers often complain of acne, but gentle cleansing will remove impurities from the pores, which will reduce breakouts. At an older age, getting rid of dead cells smoothes superficial wrinkles and removes age spots. When contacting a proven salon, the procedure can be done for both young people and the elderly.

The nuances of preparation and recovery period

Before the exfoliation process, tell your dermatologist about the chronic diseases and the medications you are taking: he may ask you to temporarily abandon them and prepare the integument by applying drugs with glycolic acid or retinoids. Together with your doctor, you will determine the intensity of the upcoming procedure. If your body is prone to keloid scars, look for another option.

Also observe the following rules:

  • refrain from smoking for several weeks before and after exfoliation;
  • apply products with SPF filters even in cloudy weather and on days when you do not leave your home.

The features of the recovery period depend on which face peeling you have chosen: this will become a decisive factor. With the superficial type, you will appreciate the advantages and do without long-term recovery, and the medium level will get rid of noticeable wrinkles without causing any noticeable discomfort. Deep chemical cleansing gives the best result, and it lasts for a long time. But the duration of the procedure is increased to 2 hours, and the recovery period can take 4 weeks. The sensations and consequences are comparable to those of a sunburn.

Features of physical impact

Physical peeling involves the mechanical removal of a layer of dead cells, which is performed using scrubs. Those contain particles of substances that act on the skin by gentle rubbing. But not all drugs that are offered in the store are equally useful: dermatologist Dennis Gross draws attention to the fact that the fraction of inclusions should not be too large. According to him, scrubs do have an effect, but they must be used with caution. In terms of the softness of action and effectiveness, they are inferior to the previous version, but they are also available at home.

Having learned what peeling with scrubs is, you will ask the question, how gentle it is for the skin. The answer depends on various factors:

  • what tools do you use;
  • how do you carry out the procedure.

Apply the scrubs gently, rubbing in with massage movements for 1-2 minutes. Do not rely on the intensity of friction, otherwise microtrauma will appear on the integument. You should also not choose products that include crushed fruit pits or shells of exotic nuts - sharp edges will damage the epidermis.

Have you used similar scrubs, but have not had any complaints? If you had the opportunity to examine cleansed skin under a microscope, you would change your mind. Dr. Gross claims that the integument after such peelings is as if treated with sandpaper. Rough tears with jagged edges confirm that the treatment is uneven. True, not all products are harmful, so success depends on the right choice.

How to choose the right remedy for your home procedure

What is facial peeling without microtrauma? This is the procedure for which you have chosen one of the following types of scrub:

  1. A product with plastic abrasive particles will delight you with accessibility and gentle action. The tiny balls are made of safe materials, and their edges do not cause micro-trauma. But it is becoming increasingly difficult to find such scrubs, since they turned out to be harmful to the environment - when you wash off the product, over time, the plastic gets into water bodies and becomes available to animals and birds. They eat the balls, and they, once in the body, release toxins. This type of scrub is banned in the US, and many countries are rushing to follow suit.
  2. Means are gaining popularity, the formula of which includes sugar. When you apply them to a moisturized face, the particles melt, which softens the effect of the scrub. You can make the product yourself, but many beauty brands have come up with ready-made lines. They also adopted sea salt, which will provide the covers with useful minerals. Having learned how to do peeling and what it is, it is not difficult to give yourself youth.
  3. Peeling gels and gommages were initially used by Asians, but European girls also picked up fashion and appreciated the softness of the products. Products are made on the basis of cellulose, which removes the layer of dead skin cells and removes impurities. The product is applied to a moisturized face and rubbed in in a circular motion; gradually it rolls down in lumps, which are washed off with water.

Choosing one of the proposed options, you will be satisfied with the result.

When it is better to refuse scrubs

When carrying out physical peeling of the face, contraindications are few. The reason to refuse it will be the following:

If there are no contraindications for use in your case, use the product 1-2 times a week. Dermatologists say that excessive care also becomes the cause of problems, so you should not be zealous.

Which species is better: physical or chemical

After learning how different types of peels are done and what they are, you will wonder which type is better. There is no universal answer, as the choice depends on the characteristics of the skin. Chemical exfoliants act on intercellular connections, therefore they are indispensable for those who suffer from acne. After all, the application does not imply the friction of abrasive particles that irritate the already inflamed skin.

Physical methods will appeal to the owners of integuments prone to excessive fat content. Acids can also be included in the formula of scrubs, which allows you to combine the advantages of both options.

Hardware exfoliation: types, benefits, features

Hardware procedures are performed in special clinics. A dermatologist-cosmetologist will offer the following options:

  1. Vacuum face peeling is carried out using a device that creates negative pressure. The covers are attracted to the nozzle, and under its action, both the dead layer and dirt are removed.
  2. Brashing is similar in principle to the mechanical version, but a special apparatus is used in the process.
  3. The ultrasonic type is considered gentle, but this does not affect the result. The integument is smoothed out under the action of waves, the sebaceous plugs disappear, the skin gets rid of the stratum corneum.
  4. Laser treatments are popular in the West because they are mild and effective. The abundance of options will allow you to make a deep cleansing or get by with superficial cell removal.

You can choose the right type with a specialist, making adjustments for the condition of the skin.

Features of laser exfoliation

What is laser face peeling? This is a procedure based on the effect of its rays on the epidermis and dermis. It allows you to get rid of the following problems:

  • wrinkles;
  • age spots;
  • stretch marks;
  • uneven complexion;
  • scars.

The lasers used fall into 2 categories:

  1. Ablative (also called cold) are aggressive. They remove the top layer from the epidermis, which is fraught with redness. In most cases, after such peels, it takes time to recover - you will have to stay at home for a week.
  2. Non-ablative, or hot, are non-invasive devices, since they affect the deep layers of the skin. They stimulate the body's production of collagen rather than removing the upper cells of the epidermis. In the full sense, the procedure cannot be considered a peeling, since it belongs to progressive, but also expensive methods.

Laser treatment can even be prescribed to 18-year-old clients, who will relieve acne breakouts and skin irregularities. Those who want to reverse age-related changes are prescribed a set of procedures, which also include lifting and resurfacing.

Facial peeling performed by this method requires special qualifications. If the beautician makes mistakes, the formation of a "gauze effect" is possible - microscars remain at the site of the laser burn. Customers also complain about hemorrhages and blistering, so do not contact a random technician. The procedure should be carried out in a clinic, because an ordinary cosmetologist will have neither the knowledge nor the equipment to provide proper assistance.

Difference between laser peeling and resurfacing

Laser peeling and resurfacing differ in the depth of impact on the integument. If you choose exfoliation, the beam is directed to the epidermis and the dermis remains intact. The method will get rid of wrinkles and age spots, but there will be no radical transformation.

Resurfacing means that the laser energy is directed to the dermis. With its help, even strong age-related changes are removed, but the sensations will be painful, and the recovery will be long.

In some cases, dermatologists talk about deep laser peeling instead of separating the resurfacing into a separate procedure.

Conclusion

Peels are processes aimed at removing a layer of dead skin cells. Chemical and mechanical types are widespread, to which hardware action is added. The latter includes laser exfoliation, which allows for effective rejuvenation. Finally, the type of procedure is chosen together with a dermatologist, because only a specialist can take into account all the features of the skin condition.

The unpleasant word "peeling" does not mean at all that the procedure involves some kind of destructive event.

Although, in essence, peeling is, of course, destruction. The aged skin cells are artificially destroyed so that they make way for new ones, thanks to which very soon young and fresh cells help both smooth wrinkles and smooth the skin. Peeling is recommended for almost all women who have crossed the threshold of thirty. If you start using this method at this particular age, the skin will keep the so-called. "Memory" of a pleasant sensation of freshness and "will try" to regenerate more intensively. The only thing that must always be remembered is that a cosmetologist or dermatologist should still recommend the procedure for the first time. It is these specialists who will best understand the need for this procedure, and will also prescribe the most suitable type of peeling for you.

And there are many types of peeling. The most common are chemical, mechanical and hardware.

In the first place, however, is chemical peeling. It is a rather complicated process, when keratinized cells are corroded with specially selected acids, thereby destroying cell chains, "forcibly" forcing the skin to renew itself.

Mechanical peeling

The second type of peeling is mechanical. This procedure is skin resurfacing with small aluminum particles that are part of the preparation. Hard particles scrape off the top layer of dead skin cells, thereby changing the composition of the skin. Of course, the second method has a big advantage over the first: the skin is not oppressed by chemical acid, cleansing occurs in the most natural way. In addition, such drugs are much cheaper and are presented in a variety of retail outlets in the widest range. And the indications for the use of both types of peeling are exactly the same as for the chemical one: pigmentation, acne, wrinkles, unevenness.

The most gentle peeling is ultrasonic. It is also called hardware and is used for especially sensitive skin. Being a kind of ultrasonic massage, such a peeling is configured to tone the skin as much as possible, thereby eliminating frozen cells as much as possible. But in addition to the gentle advantages, the hardware cleaner also has a significant drawback: it practically does not protect against wrinkles, it just gives the tired skin a fresh look. In terms of effectiveness, mechanical and hardware peels are much lower than chemical peels. But they are absolutely safe.

Ultrasonic peeling

From a safety point of view, cosmetologists do not recommend peeling in adolescence, even if the skin is somewhat uneven or pigmented. Young girls sometimes abuse peeling in an effort to get rid of acne or scars on the skin. In the first case, peeling is powerless, because by disturbing the outer skin, you can even increase the number of acne breakouts. The situation with scars is even less predictable: the skin in their places can become so thin that the vessels become visible. And with this it is already impossible to do anything.

Chemical peeling

Before you start exfoliating your skin, treat it with moisturizing masks for a few weeks. This will both prepare her for radical changes and give her a fresh blooming look. And don't overdo it with exfoliation. All procedures aimed at effectively improving the appearance of the skin, its rejuvenation, must be done keeping in mind the sense of proportion. Therefore, we must come to terms with the fact that the regularity of the course should be no more than once a year, and the interval between procedures should be about a week.

This procedure is done in most salons and clinics. Yes, and your beautician probably suggested peeling a couple of times. How it will help to make the skin clean and beautiful and what types of peeling exist, says the candidate of medical sciences, dermatocosmetologist and chief physician of the clinic of aesthetic surgery "Ottimo" Ekaterina Papava.

Ekaterina Papava

The task of any peeling is to exfoliate the upper layers of the epidermis; in the case of deep peeling - deep layers, that is, the dermis. Removing dead skin cells improves respiration, blood supply and microcirculation of the skin. In it, the processes of tissue regeneration are started and collagen and elastin are actively synthesized. The result - the skin becomes firm, elastic and gains radiance and youth.

By acting on the surface layers, any peeling makes the skin vulnerable to ultraviolet rays and increases the risk of age spots. Therefore, peelings are usually carried out during the periods of the lowest insolation, optimally from October to March.

The procedure does not require special preparation. It is only important to exclude sunbathing at least two weeks before the peeling. In addition, it is not carried out if the skin has severe inflammation and / or damage. Superficial and some median peels can be performed regularly - 1-2 courses per year. Each for 4-8 sessions once a week. Deep peels are carried out every few years. Peels are usually prescribed from the age of 25.

Indications for peeling: acne, post-acne, enlarged pores, hyperpigmentation, decreased skin elasticity and turgor, the presence of fine or deep wrinkles. Peels should not be done if there is inflammation or damage to the skin, hypersensitivity, rosacea and a tendency to hyperpigmentation.

As for peeling at home: if we are talking about exfoliation using gommage or scrub, it is done regularly between courses of salon peeling. Usually once a week or two. If we are talking about home acid AHA peeling based on glycolic, lactic, malic and other acids, despite the fact that the concentration of active substances in such a peeling is lower than in a salon, it is important to be careful. Even homemade acid peels are a rather active procedure. Therefore, before using them, be sure to consult with a beautician.

Types of peels

According to the depth of impact, peelings are superficial, middle and deep. Superficial ones are carried out for the prevention of aging and the correction of fine wrinkles, the elimination of age spots and age-related changes in the skin, the prevention of acne. They even out the skin microrelief and remove the upper stratum corneum. For carrying out, drugs based on glycolic and alpha hydroxyl (AHA) acids are used. Medium peels give a pronounced rejuvenating effect and smooth out scar marks. They affect not only the upper, but also the stratum corneum of the skin. For carrying out, drugs based on trichloroacetic and retinoic acids are used. Deep peeling is able to remove wrinkles, scars, hyperkeratosis, pigmentation. For carrying out, drugs based on aggressive phenolic acid are usually used.

According to the method of action, peelings are mechanical - when various means with abrasive particles and a manual method of cleansing the skin are used; chemical - peels with fruit acids, TCA, salicylic and glycolic acids, as well as phenol peels; hardware rooms - peeling with ultrasound, erbium and CO 2 laser. Enzyme peels are also isolated. To carry it out, use special masks with enzymes that affect the surface layers of the skin.

Glycolic peels are used to treat acne, keratosis and hyperpigmentation. After the first procedure, the texture is improved and the relief of the skin is leveled, the pores are narrowed. After a course of procedures, the skin is noticeably moisturized, age spots are lightened, fine wrinkles are smoothed out. The rehabilitation period is short - the redness subsides within 5-10 hours. Superficial crusts exfoliate on their own within two to three days.

Salicylic peeling is done for acne, seborrhea, hyperpigmentation, including age-related. Especially indicated for people with problematic and oily skin. Salicylic acid, depending on the concentration, can be used for superficial, deep and medium chemical peels. Redness persists for a day, peeling - up to five days, crusts - up to seven. It all depends on the concentration and individual reaction of the skin.

Almond peeling is one of the most gentle, therefore it is suitable even for owners of thin and sensitive skin with rosacea. Tightens pores and gives the face a natural color and radiance. Redness disappears after a few hours, and peeling - after a day or two.

The peeling should be selected by a cosmetologist, taking into account the quality and type of your skin, age and state of health, the required cosmetological effect. The most commonly used are superficial and midline peels.

What to do after the procedure

Immediately after the procedure, the skin turns red - the degree of redness depends on the type of peeling and individual skin sensitivity. During the first four days, peeling and tightness of the skin may appear, which disappear in 5-7 days.

In the evening after the procedure, it is enough to wash with your usual cleanser - foam, gel or mousse - and wipe the skin with a tonic, but not alcohol. In the next 5-6 days, include a good moisturizer in your beauty ritual. If the skin is severely flaky, use a dense formulation for dry skin that leaves a lipid film. It is advisable to do a scrub or gommage not earlier than 5-6 days after superficial or middle peeling and 8-10 days after deep peeling. As for tonal means - ideally, you need to abandon them altogether for at least a week, or use translucent fluids that do not clog pores. It is optimal to use products from a medical or professional cosmetics line.

Immediately after the peeling - on the same day - if necessary, you can perform a photorejuvenation procedure. It is ideally combined with, for example, almond peeling. Or - in this case, they do it first, and then peel. Biorevitalization will minimize peeling and possible inflammation after peeling.

Peeling- the most demanded winter procedure. It helps to eliminate many cosmetic problems: enlarged pores, dull complexion, wrinkles, pigmentation, acne marks.

If in summer, as a rule, we notice an improvement in the condition of the skin of the face, then in winter the situation changes dramatically. These changes are easy to explain. Reducing daylight hours, increasing stress, slowing down the recovery processes in the body - all this, one way or another, affects the skin of the face: its color, tone and relief. However, it's not all bad. Due to the fact that there is little sun and no active protection from ultraviolet radiation is required, as in summer we have a great opportunity to renew the skin with the help of peeling- procedures for deep exfoliation of cells.

Why do you need peeling?

Imagine leather is a puff pastry. The bottom layer is called the dermis. It is here that blood vessels, nerve endings are concentrated, as well as cells that produce elastin, collagen and hyaluronic acid, which are responsible for our youth. The next layer of the cake is the basement membrane (skin filter). On it are cells that are born, slowly move outward, die and subsequently exfoliate. This is followed by the epidermis - the barrier layer of the skin. With age, the process of cell renewal at all levels slows down, and the task peeling, just that to force cells to divide, as in adolescence. To do this, he evenly cleans the upper layer of the epidermis, that is, injures the skin. The cells are on alert and begin to work more actively, restoring damage. The procedure is not very pleasant, and even painful, but if the exfoliation is carried out professionally, then the discomfort will be minimal, the recovery course will be short-lived, and the skin will shine like new!

Peelings are divided according to the mechanism of action: cosmetic (scrubs and gommages for home use), physical (laser resurfacing, cryotherapy) and mechanical (ultrasound, vacuum, microdermabrasion). We will dwell on the latter, the most popular, in more detail.

Mechanical peelings are carried out either with the help of AHA-acids of organic origin, contained in plants (glycolic), fruits (citric, malic, tartaric), and milk (lactic), or on the basis of salicylic or trichloroacetic acids. The cosmetologist applies the substances in a thin layer using different concentrations, depending on the problem. The result is a burn of varying severity. The lightest and most gentle option is the superficial peeling. It does not cause severe pain, except for a slight tingling sensation, which disappears after applying a soothing mask. Surface peeling suitable for the elimination of fine wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, dry skin and loss of tone. It should be taken in a course of 4 to 10 procedures per year.

Second variety peelingsmedian ... It effectively erases scars, acne marks, deep wrinkles and folds. The sensations from him are unpleasant, you will have to endure while the doctor applies a saving cooling gel to the burning face. After that, get ready for a two-week rehabilitation period. After a week, the skin will begin to peel off, and under it will appear new elastic and tightened. Optimal course of medians peelings 2-6 procedures. The method is quite aggressive, so it is recommended to carry it out no more than six times throughout your life.

Deep peeling are prescribed extremely rarely, since this is not a cosmetic procedure, but a real operation under anesthesia.

The first thing to know before carrying out peeling, - contraindications. For example, the presence of herpes, skin hypersensitivity, cardiovascular diseases are taboo for such a procedure. After peeling the cosmetologist should switch to a rehabilitation program: it can be pigmentation correction, deep hydration or deep nourishment of the damaged skin. At home, moisturizing masks based on hyaluronic acid, collagen and aloe are recommended. Despite the low temperature and the minimum amount of ultraviolet radiation, do not forget to apply a cream with a high protection factor of 30 to 50 SPF before going outside.

Dilyara Rafikovna, head cosmetologist of "Aesthetic-City", talks about the chemical peeling procedure Askarov.

Dilyara Rafikovna, what is “ chemical peeling "?

Peeling - (from the English "to peel" - to cleanse, peel off) is an effective cosmetic procedure, which is based on the exfoliation of the superficial, middle and deep layers of the epidermis.

If we talk about chemical peeling, then this is the effect on the surface and middle layers of the skin with special chemical agents. Chemical peels are divided into several types: superficial, medium and deep.

Superficial peeling is the mildest exfoliation in which the upper layers of the skin are affected. In chemical peeling, the beautician usually selects gentle formulations - these are fruit, lactic, glycolic, tartaric acids, etc. The indications for fruit peels are problems with oily and porous skin, acne marks, minor age spots, sensitive skin.

In the middle peeling, the middle layers of the epidermis are affected. This type of peeling helps to smooth wrinkles, remove age spots, scars, traces of inflammation, acne, brighten and refresh the skin color.

Deep peeling affects the deep layers of the skin. It is used to correct wrinkles, scars, hyperkeratosis, pigmentation. This procedure is usually performed in a hospital setting. At the Aesthetic City Beauty and Health Centers, specialists carry out superficial and medium chemical peeling procedures.

What is the effect of the peeling procedure?

Peeling promotes skin renewal and rejuvenation. This cosmetic procedure helps to get rid of age spots and various skin imperfections, including scars and acne marks. A course of peels will help remove wrinkles, relieve mild acne, narrow pores, and refresh complexion.

In addition to improving the condition of the facial skin, it is possible to work with other areas of the body. Chemical peeling of the back is carried out in order to get rid of post-acne, acne, age spots.

How old is peeling?

Under normal skin conditions, experts recommend peeling from the age of 18. However, it must be borne in mind that everything is individual. For various skin problems (post-acne, age spots, skin renewal problems), a peeling procedure may be required up to the age of 18.

Can peeling be done if the skin has inflammations, acne?

It is not recommended to peel on severely inflamed skin. In this case, it is better to visit a beautician who, after diagnosing the condition of the skin, will propose a treatment plan for acne on the face and other parts of the body. With a mild form of acne, the peeling procedure is quite acceptable, and even useful. The pores are narrowed, and the healing process of the skin is accelerated.

How often should you peel?

The facial peeling procedure can be performed once every 2 weeks. The full course is 6 to 10 sessions. Peeling of other parts of the body, where the skin is thicker, can be done more often, once a week.

How is the procedure for chemical facial peeling?

First, we prepare the skin, do make-up removal for the face. After that, we apply a cleansing gel with glycolic acid to the skin - it removes residual fat, restores the pH balance, and ensures uniform absorption of the peeling composition by the skin. It should be noted that before the peeling procedure, you must not cleanse your face with alkaline agents (soap, soap gels), since they disrupt the natural pH balance of the skin, the result of peeling in this case will be ineffective.

After the cleansing procedure, apply the peeling composition to the skin for 10 minutes. During this time, frost should form on the skin (a continuous white film over the entire surface of the skin). As frost appears, the specialist neutralizes the areas of the skin where the film has formed with a special composition. With superficial peeling, the composition applied to the skin is almost not felt. With a middle peel, the patient feels a slight tingling sensation, a burning sensation.

The final part of the procedure is the application of skin care (creams or masks according to skin type).

It should be noted that the full result of the peeling is visible in a few days after the procedure. Immediately after peeling, the skin turns slightly red due to exposure to chemical agents. At this time, it is important to properly care for her. A specialist will tell you how to do this and write a recipe. In the Aesthetic City Beauty and Health Centers, cosmetologists usually prescribe repeated appointments to patients to check the condition of the skin. A day or two after the procedure, the skin becomes smooth, taut and radiant. Then comes the time of abundant peeling - the skin begins to renew itself. After exfoliating completely, you will immediately feel the difference before and after exfoliation.

What should and should not be done before / after the chemical peeling procedure?

After the peeling procedure, it is necessary to use creams with a sunscreen filter of 30 or more (30SPF) for 2-3 days. It is not recommended to stay in the sun, visit the solarium.

For best results and to avoid side effects, it is important to follow your healthcare professional's recommendations exactly. The important ones are:

1. Do not remove dead or flaking skin: this can lead to bleeding, discoloration of the skin or even the formation of small scars;

2. Avoid being in direct sunlight and exclude visits to the solarium, baths, saunas and swimming pools;

3. For about 30-50 days (depending on the type of peeling performed), go outside only after using a sunscreen. This reduces the risk of hyperpigmentation (brown spots on the face). A UV reflector should be used daily to protect the skin;

4. Visit your doctor 2 days after the procedure: he must make sure that the recovery period is proceeding normally.
