How to make a paper dove: materials

Several techniques can be used at once. Most often, these pigeons are cut out according to a template. You can also try to make birds using origami technique or in another way. You may need the following tools and tools.

Paper - it is better to choose a special one for creativity. For example, if you decide to decorate a bird made of ordinary office paper with paint, then the material may get too wet and go in waves. It spoil appearance crafts. Office paper can be replaced with white cardstock for creative purposes. It is better to choose matte rather than glossy, since the plumage of white pigeons is not too shiny. Watercolor paper will also work. It is usually sold in small folders of 10-12 sheets.

As a decoration, many craftswomen use various craft materials. This can be, for example, corrugated paper. Remember that the density of the material must be sufficient because some details are folded to add volume.

Decorating materials - paper doves can be decorated with glitter transparent glue. Also on the wings of birds they apply various patterns... This can be done with markers or paint. It is better to choose acrylic or gouache, as they form an even durable layer on the paper.

Additional accessories - birds are also sometimes used to create garlands. Therefore, it is worth picking up the ropes for them. An interesting option shabby chic is the use of jute rope or twine. Also, pigeons are sometimes hung in the room. Interesting craft can be obtained by fixing the birds on a metal round base. You can use a regular embroidery hoop as this.

Paper dove template: features of work

Making a pigeon using a template is quite simple. Prepare thick paper. If you have a printer at home, you can print the template immediately. In this case, you should first stretch the image so that the required size is obtained.

3 parts should be cut out - the body, wings and crest. This should be done along solid lines. Dotted lines indicate folds. There should be no cut holes in the center of the torso template!

We turn to the formation of the volume of the bird's head. To do this, bend the back template along the dotted lines. The beak should point down. Next, slit the feathers on the tail. To make the bird more realistic, it is worth creating plumage. To do this, we make oblique cuts in all places, except for the head and beak. This also applies to other details. The crest should be especially lush.

We form the wings. To do this, we also bend the middle part along the dotted lines. You should get a small triangle that goes down. Do not forget to make the plumage along the edges using oblique cuts. We smear the triangle of the central part with glue. Then we glue it to the body in the middle.

The final stage is the crest. We also bend it a little (you should get a small "tongue"), and then glue it to the bird's head.

Paper dove of peace: origami bird

Take a square piece of paper and fold it diagonally. Then repeat this step for the other side. Leave it as a triangle. Rotate the workpiece so that the bifurcated top points to the left. Then bend it to the right side. In this case, the fold should be located from the wide right side at a distance of 2-3 cm. Repeat the same action in the opposite direction.

Then we lift the resulting protruding part up again, capturing part of the future body of the bird (about 1 cm at the triangle, which is located behind the part). We almost got a birdie. It remains only to wrap the beak of the dove. To do this, bend the part of the triangle closest to us on the left side of the craft down.

The dove of peace from paper using the origami technique can be not only white, but also any other color. It is best to use thin paper. It will be easier to fold. You can decorate the craft by painting the bird with felt-tip pens. You can also glue her eyes and a paper beak. This craft looks very nice. If you hang it by thin strings or fishing line in the form of a garland. The pigeons are placed at the base of the chandelier.

Interesting pigeons can be created using alternative techniques. One of them involves the use of wet paper. The resulting birds can be used as figurines for garlands or create various applications with their help.

You will need:

  • Multicolored paper napkins
  • PVA hive
  • Pattern pattern
  • Plastic bag or film

Manufacturing instruction:

  1. Print out the template for making pigeons. It is better to choose pictures in which the birds are depicted in profile. Place a plastic wrap on top of the printed sheet of paper.
  2. Moving on to the rationing of paper to create crafts. To do this, prepare a few bowls. We take multi-colored napkins and tear them finely and finely with our fingers. Sort paper of different colors into different bowls. Add some water and glue to them. Stir the resulting mass in any convenient way. As a result, the paper should be thoroughly wet. The resulting mass is very flexible and molds well.
  3. We take wet shredded paper and put it on the film in accordance with the contours of the picture. After you have filled the entire body of the pigeon, leave the mass to dry out. This takes a maximum of 1 hour to 2 hours.
  4. The dried workpiece can be used in any way. For example, you can hang them on strings from a Christmas tree. Also, using such blanks of pigeons, they make interesting applications. For example, birds, flowers and children's hands, made using the technique of wet paper, are placed on a thick sheet of cardboard. The method is interesting because these birds can also be used to decorate scrapbooks and postcards.

Corrugated paper peace dove

You will need:

  • Thick cardboard
  • Scissors
  • Doves patterns
  • Corrugated paper

Manufacturing instruction:

  1. Using a template, cut out dove figurines from cardboard. Cut corrugated paper into square strips middle length(about 3 cm).
  2. Roll small "roses" from the stripes. The easiest way is to place a pen in the center of any piece of paper.
  3. Then you need to fold the free edges of the paper up. The part is fixed with your fingers. Then it is smeared with glue from the inside out. This should be done in the middle.
  4. Then a detail from corrugated paper glued to the dove's cardboard template.
  5. Thus, other details are formed. They are glued over the entire area. As a result, we get a figurine of a dove filled with paper.

Paper dove: photo

The paper dove of peace is performed in different techniques. The easiest way to do it is with a template. To do this, it is printed on a printer and the necessary parts are cut out. Remember that the dashed lines in the templates represent the folds. You do not need to cut them. Pigeons are also made using the origami technique and made from wet and corrugated paper.

Origami - translated from Japanese as "folded paper". Initially, the art of folding origami was common among the upper classes. Possession of the technique of folding paper figures was considered a sign of good form. This art went beyond the borders of the East after the Second World War. Now the whole world is engaged in folding paper figures.

A dove can be folded from light-colored paper, which, as you know, is a symbol of peace. As you probably guessed, today we will show you how to make a paper dove with your own hands in stages. It is not difficult to fold it, and in this master class the most convenient way is described. It is best to fold a pigeon from blue paper or from an ordinary white sheet. You can find special square origami paper on sale now.

First, the square must be folded diagonally to form a triangle.

Then this triangle folds in half.

Now you need to fold the triangle in half again, but wrap its top layer in one direction.

And wrap the bottom layer in another.

Then do the same on the other side.

The triangle must be expanded, bends turned out inside.

Now the triangle folds in half, while its top folds inward along the folds.

Here's what you should get - top view.

The same manipulations need to be done on the other side, you get this kind of pigeon blank - top view.

Now you can bend the wings of the pigeon up.

In order to make a beak for a pigeon, you need to bend a small corner.

And then turn it inward along the folds.

Expand it so that it looks like an inverted kite.

First bend one half around the tail of the pigeon.

Then the other half. It turned out to be a tail.

The dove of peace is ready! For realism, it is better to round the wings a little with scissors. You can cut a twig of green paper for the pigeon to hold in its beak.

The final view of the craft.

The main types of application "Dove"

Such a paper craft can be made in different ways: from a glued flat pattern. With large parts created by folding and gluing auxiliary elements (ponytail, wings). Made of material with a textured surface created from napkins. From details in quilling technology. As you have already noticed, there is far more than one method of creating a product. Small children can also cope with the first if you give them a cut out template. The latter method is suitable for an older child or for working together with parents.

Using paper birds

If you approach work with joy and good mood, will come out quite an interesting application "Dove" from paper. You can independently make a postcard, a beautiful panel for decorating an apartment, a simple box decor using this idea. What holidays is it worth making this beautiful bird:

  • The theme can be suitable both for decorating congratulations for the Defender of the Fatherland Day, and, for example, for Mother's Day.
  • A bird in the form of an addition to a bunch of roses can also appear on a postcard for the sweet holiday of March Eighth.
  • At home, you can give a child this type of work to create a present for someone from the family or for your friends at a wedding.

These paper birds - symbolize peace, goodness and love - they can decorate any celebration.

Materials and fixtures

Before going to work, you should always be well prepared. To create a beautiful bird, you need to take the following:

  • White paper.
  • Napkins.
  • Pencil and washing machine.
  • Sharp scissors.
  • Gun with glue.
  • Sample.

To work in quilling technology, you will need to take stripes about five mm wide, as well as a device for twisting them. For this task, you can take a knitting needle, toothpick, or something similar. It turns out that there is nothing difficult, so the work can be safely entrusted to your child. All you need to do is find templates - make an outline or print a picture.

Simple option

Now it will be disassembled, a master class on creating a simple pigeon. The easiest way to create a bird can be created in the following way.: Take a sheet of white or multi-colored cardboard or paper in the form of a base (background).

Leave it flat, or try folding it into a folding card. Prepare by any method, patterns of birds made of white cardboard. Stick the birds onto the base.

Picture or glue beautiful eyes and a beak, you can also glue a part of the wings or tail on top. It is good to decorate such a craft with ordinary flowers, the image of the earth, children's palms or people holding the handles.

For an older child, you can complicate the work: Take napkins and tear them into small pieces. The smaller the pieces, the more interesting the applique will come out. Place all material in a plate or similar container and add some water. When the napkins are wet, wring out the unnecessary and add simple glue to the material. Stick the paper products onto the dove template you cut out earlier.

After drying, the surface of the product will become textured and slightly voluminous. Thus, you can even create something similar to the relief, showing the shape of the wings. By this principle, it is easy to work with crumpled material.

Volumetric pigeon

To make such a bird, use one of the methods shown below.

Method # 1 starts with the following: Take the pigeon template. Make different squares out of white napkins (choose the size yourself so that they fit the size of the pigeon). Twist the made parts in the form of cone-shaped bags. To do this, you can use a simple pencil. Dip thin parts of the product in the glue so that the napkin does not get wet, and stick to the surface of the product. After completing all the actions, you will have a bird with a very cute openwork plumage.

Method number 2 is to prepare or make with your own hands the desired bird pattern, from which you can make the whole shape, and then, using the folds of the elements, make a voluminous bird.

The surface of such a craft can be easily decorated with any of the methods discussed above. To make a more lively craft, make individual plumage elements in the form of scales out of paper. Stick them all over the product. On the wing, the elements may be larger, on the sternum and trunk - small. This option is, of course, quite difficult, but older children can cope with it.

Application "bird" made of cardboard different ways... Choose the correct method according to the age of the children and their ability to work with crafts. Do different jobs with the guys and teach them something new.

Templates for work

To quickly make a dove out of paper, cutting templates will come in very handy. The first image below shows the lightest version of the bird drawing. Such a craft can be perfectly taken for children's entertainment with the smallest kids. The form is light here, and it will not be difficult to fill it with a mass of material.

The second picture shows a paper dove, volumetric template... You can work with the second template, both for creating children's leisure time, and for decorating a wedding celebration. For children, you can cut out auxiliary parts that will repeat the shape of the wing and tail. The parts glued with the auxiliary layer will give the effect of relief to the craft. Many people think about how to correctly make a dove out of paper with their own hands. Bird patterns and silhouette help you create any craft and make your work easier.

Attention, only TODAY!

Royal pigeon from plastic bottles.

From plastic bottles

For manufacturing we need:
1) plastic bottle (from under detergent),
2) metal-plastic pipe, 12 mm in diameter, 54 cm long,
3) milk bottles, 24 pcs.,
4) two 1.5 liters. transparent bottles,
5) wire,
6) a small piece of styrofoam,
7) self-tapping screws (with a small head no more than 1.5 cm in length), a screwdriver, a stationery knife, sandpaper No. 1 and No. 0, an awl,
8) glue gun and transparent Moment glue.
9) twine.

We form the frame:
1) we bend the shape of the legs from the metal-plastic pipe so that the middle part lies flat inside the bottle, and the legs are down to the bottom, slightly bent forward.
2) cut the holes where we will insert our intended legs, at the risk, which is drawn 1/3 part from the edge.
We insert the legs and fasten them to the screws.
From the top 1.5L. form the neck of a transparent bottle: cut off about a little less than half of the bottle, cut it and fold it in a cone, fasten it with a wire. If the cone seems a bit narrow at the back, expand it by inserting a small triangular piece.
To make the thighs, cut out the middle part of the bottle and cut it in half. We add envelopes from the resulting rectangles.

The resulting neck and "legs" are attached to the canister with self-tapping screws. The form is ready.

To make feathers, we cut milk bottles into 5 pieces. We cut each part into small feathers, as shown in the photo.

We begin to close the "thighs". To do this, finely chop the 6 upper parts.
We glue it on the glue gun, first inside, and then outside.

For convenience, we detach the "thigh" from the canister and continue to close it with small feathers using a wire.

In the process of work, I realized that it was necessary to move the back of the canister by 1 cm. I cut it off as shown in the photo and secured it with self-tapping screws. You can do this at the very beginning when you start assembling the form. With the help of self-tapping screws, we begin to close the back of our form.

The next step, we begin to close the sides of the canister from below, so that the feathers, as it were, come out from under the fluffy part of the "frog".
We attach the "thighs" in place.

We continue to close the sides of the canister with small feathers using self-tapping screws.

We remove the neckline and begin to close it with feathers using a wire, approximately, just below the middle.

We connect the finished parts together.

We cut the upper part of the bottle in half, then finely chop the larger part, and put the small one aside, it will come in handy a little later.

Using a glue gun, we begin to glue our plumage in a circle. we stop before reaching the top of about 2.5-3 cm.

It's time to put our bird on its feet! For making feet, we need a wire that bends well, of medium thickness. 1) insert the wire between the metal-plastic pipe and the envelope, 2) before reaching the edge, about 0.3-0.4 mm. we bend around the metal-plastic pipe with wire. We bend the wire, gradually forming the toes.

We smear each finger with glue and wrap it with twine twice (back and forth). Our feet are ready.

We put on ready-made feet and be sure to coat with glue for strength (so that they do not move). Now we are already standing on our own!

Cut off a strip from the corrugated tube about 1 cm, glue it to the reinforced-plastic pipe to close the wire.
From the remaining upper parts (which we cut off when we closed the neck), cut into small feathers.

We glue them with a glue gun to the reinforced-plastic pipe from the inside and outside.

The joint (in front), we close in the same way as in the back, using a small strip of corrugated tube.
We have got gorgeous legs!

From a small piece of netting (mesh 25 * 25) we prepare a shape for attaching the tail.

Cut feathers from the upper parts of the bottle.

Using the wire, we begin to attach the feathers to the net.

We turn over and attach the next row (we turn over the mesh in order to make it easier to attach the wire).

Turn over again and attach the next row of feathers.

Turn it over again and begin to cover the visible place of attachment of the feathers with small feathers (close the visible wire). The last row falls below the edge of the chain-link mesh by about 1.5 cm, in order to
to attach them with self-tapping screws to the back of the canister.

Gently slip it under the top row of feathers and fasten it with self-tapping screws.

In front, we must fix our tail with self-tapping screws (grab it by the edges of the feathers). We cut the upper part of the bottle into 3 parts and with the help of self-tapping screws (screw it to the canister) we close the last row of feathers at the tail.

Let's get to work with the wings.
We measure the canister and draw a diagram of the wings (it is possible that the dimensions of your canister will not coincide with mine, so you can measure it yourself and draw a similar diagram). We transfer it to 1.5 liters. plastic bottle with a marker, cut out. Just in case, try on the paper pattern first and make sure it matches the shape and fits well.

From the top of the bottle we cut long, flight feathers for the wings.
