So. The dress turned out to be 70 cm long. I knitted for my daughter, who is 7 years old. She's a thin and tall enough girl. Knitting density 28 CCH per 10 cm.

Let's start with the materials.

I got 1 skein of yarn as a gift. This is 100% Iris mercerized cotton. In a hank of 300 g and 1800 meters. Hook number 2.

Invisible zipper.

I started knitting with a skirt. Tied a pipe of 5 rows of 12 large motifs in a non-detachable way. MK knitting of these round motifs, see the video.

When the pipe is ready, without cutting the thread, I aligned the edge, immediately narrowing it, fitting it in. We do this, too, with semi-motives.

Photo 1. We make the last connecting loop in the pipe. In the same loop, knit a single crochet and cast on 4 loops. Such 4 loops will be between all semi-motives.

Here we have such a smooth edge. From him it is already easy and simple to knit any pattern.

We knit first bodice row. With it we will start a new count of the rows. In blue on the diagram, I marked our edge, from which we begin to knit the fabric up. The pink dots are the centers of our semi-motives. The green lifting loops show where we are at the beginning and end of the row. Black symbols - what needs to be connected and how to distribute the columns in the new row. I adjusted this distribution in order to get the number of loops for the next row, a multiple of 3.

Second we knit a row completely with single crochet in each column and under each loop. I knitted on seamy side, I like it better. The output is 240 columns.

V third a row we knit crossed columns along front side.. The difference is that there we knit X-stitches with one loop inside and skip 1 between the legs, and here we knit 2 loops. And in today's pattern, our X-columns have common tops and legs, too, at the same point for two adjacent X-columns.

In the photo below, a row of crossed posts is ready. Next, fourth row - all of the single crochet. In it, we make subtractions, skipping every 10th column or loop, in total 216 RLS (I did not take a photo).

Sixth row. Also, all of the CCH, only you need to make 40 subtractions in any convenient way. I marked evenly 8 places in a circle and in each I made 5 decreases (2 CCHs with a common top). And another moment. In this row, we leave 3 columns on the back between the beginning and end of the row for the future snake. Starting from this row, we knit only in rotary rows. The output of this row should be 173 columns.

7.8 and 9 rows - an elastic band from embossed columns 1 * 1 (LRS, IRS, and so on)

After the elastic until the end of the knitting of the back, we are in the place where the lightning will be, at the beginning and at the end we knit 4 CCHs, regardless of the pattern.

11 row... The whole row is crocheted, only in the middle of the row (at 41-42 checkbox, you need to make 1 decrease so that we have 171 columns left for the next row (well, those 3 that we do not knit, we do not count).

12-23 row... We start the pattern. So far, there will be no more additions or decreases. We knit according to the scheme below a straight continuous fabric to the armholes.

Starting from the 24th row, we knit both shelves of the back and in front of them separately. There will be 22 more rows.

We connect the finished shelves of the back with the front when knitting the last row, or sew. Then we tie the armholes and the neck with space for the zipper with 3 rows of single crochet posts. We sew in a zipper.

I additionally tied the bottom of the dress in two rows without schemes, just what I came up with - then I got in touch. This smoothed the waves a little, and a number of PRSs made the dress heavier.
