Pullover with diagonal stripes. Oblique knitting. Lessons, descriptions, schemes Knitting of strips of hosiery

Oblique knitting knitting is not a very common technique, but very beautiful. This technique cannot be called popular, but the thing made in the technique of the diagonal pattern looks very original and beautiful. Let's figure out how to do oblique knitting?

And more knitting topics here:

Oblique knitting is not the easiest one, so I do not recommend for beginners to tackle complicated things right away. The narrowing and expansion of the canvas is not so difficult to do, but in calculating the number of loops and sizes, you will need experience behind the back. But there is a very big plus in diagonal knitting - you will be rewarded with a wonderful thing. Such stripes perfectly emphasize the figure, hiding minor imperfections. Pullovers, tops, ponchos, capes, vests, knitted in this way look great. And also not the whole thing can be diagonal, but only a fragment - for example, a central braid, an elastic band or a yoke.

If you understand the technique of oblique knitting, then everything is not so difficult. In general, all the work can be divided into three stages, which everyone can master. This is expansion of the fabric, even knitting, narrowing of the fabric. Let's take a closer look:

1. We start knitting by knitting a triangle. We collect 3 loops on the needles and knit with the front stitch, adding in each row an additional loop in front of the hem and at the end of the row after the hem. Do not add loops in the purl rows.

2. When the number of loops reaches the desired one, at the beginning of the row add a loop in front of the hem, and at the end of the row we knit 2 together with a purl loop. But we do not do it tightly, otherwise it will pull the edges.

3. When we have knitted the required length, proceed to narrowing the fabric. At the beginning of the row of loops, we do not add, but at the end we knit 2 together with a purl loop. Pull the two remaining loops through one another.

One of the biggest challenges is determining at what height you need to taper the canvas in order to finish at the desired height. Thus, by adding and subtracting loops, you get the desired width of the canvas, only the drawing will be directed diagonally. Therefore, such knitting is called diagonal.

When you have fully mastered all three steps, the bias knitting will not seem so difficult. Having calculated the required length and width, you can create a masterpiece with your own hands. By combining Beautiful colors, you get a beautiful diagonal pattern - two-color or multi-color.

Stripes- simplest color knitting option: Take different skeins and knit a row. You will have a horizontal stripe. Vertical stripes are also quite simple to do - knit the product across, and not from bottom to top (or from top to bottom). Diagonal stripes around the edges need to be shaped, but you won't regret the effort. Stripes can be expressive or restrained, colors can be both saturated and bright, and restrained. You can only choose two colors, or you can combine as many colors as you like. Stripes can be knitted in arithmetic sequences. To knit a piece, you just need to figure out how to get started with different skeins of yarn. In short, the possibilities are endless.

Method of knitting strips depends on whether you are doing flat knitting or circular knitting. Therefore, we will first consider these options, and then move on to developing patterns.

Flat knitting

When you knit in rows back and forth, it is very easy to make colored stripes of different widths. The main task is to determine when to change the color and whether it is worth cutting the thread when switching to a new color. Now let's imagine how wide you will be knitting a strip, how many colors to use and what kind of finished product will look like.

Starting a new streak

Starting to knit a strip of a different color, you can use several in simple ways to secure the yarn. At the beginning of the row, set the working thread aside, thread a different color into the knit and continue knitting with a new thread. If the distance between the stripes is too large, you should cut the yarn between them, then the edges will not tighten. However, if the knit has a base color and narrow stripes in contrasting colors, you can keep the base color and trim off the rest.

We start to knit a strip... Keep the ends of both strands free, we will come back to them later. Continue knitting until you have completed the stripe you want.

Draw the thread along the edge... If you decide to knit with the same threads every few rows, then you do not need to cut the yarn between the strips. Just grab it from the side, leaving a loose enough loop so the knitting will stretch normally.

We twist the threads... If you think you shouldn't run the yarn around the edge, you can always secure it by twisting every two rows with a working thread, or simply cut the threads between the strips.

We knit paired rows

When knitting strips, you can use several tricks that will simplify the knitting process, you do not have to constantly cut the thread, and therefore very few ends remain. The acceptable knitting method will depend on the pattern chosen, the width of the stripe, and the number of colored stripes.

Working with thread ends

In the process of knitting, immediately decide how much thread you will leave. If you are going to tie the ends from the wrong side of the product, then they should be 10-15 cm. For fringes or laces, the ends should be longer. If weaving the ends of the threads seems too troublesome for you, you can always use other methods.

»Do not leave the ends loose until you finish knitting - weave them into the knit as often as possible.

»Weave them in while knitting.

»Include ends in fringe.

»If the ends are at the edge and will not be visible in the garment (for example, in the side seam), then connect them in the form of a French" braid ".

»Many small braids can be made from the ends left on the outside. Decorate them with beads or bells.

»There are several ways to trim the edges with the loose ends of the threads, such as with a strap or knit piping.

Stockinet... If you always start a new strip after purl-knit stitches, then all the ends of the threads will remain from one end of the knit fabric. As a result, the threads can be fastened along the edge without cutting. Of course, if the stripes are not too wide. In strips 2.4 or 6 rows wide, the yarn is easy to pick up.

Garter knitting... An even number of rows of garter stitch creates neat scars where the color changes to front side... The stripes can be of any width, as long as you knit an even number of rows with each color.

One row wide strip

If in flat knit you want to make stripes one row wide and knit in two colors, it is better to use circular knitting needles. Knit a row with the first color, move the loops to the other end of the knitting needle and knit the next row with yarn of the second color, so you don't have to cut the thread every time you change color. In this way, you can knit stripes made with one row of loops, with an even number of colors.

ROW 1: On the front side, knit in the first color, then slide the knitted strip back to the other end of the knitting needle.
ROW 2: Knit again on the front side of the loop with the front loops in a second color and turn the work over.
ROW 3: Purl from wrong side with color first, then slide to other end of knitting needle.
ROW 4: Re-knit purl stitches from inside out using a different color of thread.

One row wide stripes with an odd number of colors

If the job has an odd number of threads different color, that is, a very simple way to knit strips in one row wide. For example, with three colors of threads, you can make a hosiery, knitting with each color one row and each time, finishing a row, turn the knitting. After the first three rows have been completed, each time knitting to the end of the row, pick up the thread fixed along the edge and knit with it. Knit with threads different colors in the same sequence. The described method can be used for knitting with any odd number of threads. Remember to pick up the thread that is attached to the edge. Thus, sample A.

ROW 1: Knit, color No. 1.
ROW 2: Purl, color # 2
ROW 3: knit, color No. 3.
ROW 4: Purl, color 1.
ROW 5: Knit, color No. 2.
ROW 6: purl, color No. 3.

Knitting patterns consisting of many colors

If you knit a lot of colored yarns, both even and odd, the yarns will be pulled long distances between the strips, so you may need to trim them. And if you cut off the threads, one row wide strips can be knitted with any number of threads of different colors.

Knitting strips of hosiery

Hosiery is distinguished by the presence of clearly defined front and back sides. By changing the colors of the threads, you will notice that the stripes on the working side (A) have an even, solid edge. On the seamy side (B), the edge will be uneven and uneven. You can also make the seamy side to be the front, this method of knitting is called seamy stitch.

Knitting stripes in garter stitch

Like hosiery, garter stitch is an easy way to change colors every two rows. You can be sure that the threads will be secured at the edges exactly where you need them. Making two rows of garter stitch, you need to make a one-color scar on the edge (B). back side the canvas will differ markedly (D).

Knitting diagonal stripes

Diagonal stripes are knitted by knitting additions on one side and decreases on the other, which requires some effort. This is done like this. First, make two loops and then work in garter stitch, adding one loop at the beginning of each row until one side of the triangle is the correct width. Now continue adding stitches at the beginning of each row on one side only and subtracting them at the beginning of the row on the other side. The result will be two parallel edges, and the knitting itself will go diagonally. When you have knitted a large enough number of rows, form the end corner by decreasing one loop at the beginning of each row until there are three loops left. Knit three stitches together as a knit stitch, cut the thread and pull it through the remaining one. Note: add and subtract along the edge at least one loop at a time, then the edges of the canvas will not be too tight.

Collection of simple patterns with embossed stripes and stripes with knitting needles

Embossed patterns with knitting needles is an alternation when knitting front and back loops, while the fabric is three-dimensional due to a combination of convex and concave sections, and also quite dense (without gaps). Therefore, such patterns are especially expressive. There are a great many relief patterns, they differ in small or large rapport. These patterns are ideal for smooth cotton, cotton / rayon, silk and linen blended yarns. If the yarn is thick, then the pattern looks especially embossed, and if it is thin, then you get an exquisite, noble structure. Embossed patterns are quite simple to knit, therefore they are recommended for beginner craftswomen, because help them gain skill and experience. Confident knitters also do not ignore embossed patterns, because they are convenient to combine with openwork and give it a special elegance. To charm relief patterns has not disappeared, they should not be ironed and treated with steam, it is enough to moisten and allow to dry in a straightened form.
We bring to your attention large collection simple patterns with embossed stripes and stripes (vertical, horizontal, diagonal) for knitting with visual patterns, diagrams, descriptions and conventions... Choose and create with pleasure!

Oblique knitting, it is also diagonal, the product is obtained obliquely.

You will need a certain level of dexterity and a lot of patience. Let the curvature itself be achieved by adding and subtracting loops, difficulties can arise when calculating the size and shape of the canvas. Unlike knitting in a straight line, the width of diagonal pieces is not an obvious concept. By eye, or during the first fittings, it is difficult to determine how the product will sit on you.

In the technique of oblique knitting, individual elements of complex models can be made that have decorative (patterned inserts) and functional (coquette, elastic bands) meaning. Triangle, trapezoid, parallelepiped, even a circle - these shapes can be made with knitting needles only in this way.

COMPLETING OF THE WORK

BACK

With dark blue thread on knitting needles No. 3, dial 4 sts and knit 1 row with the front and 1 row with the purl. Then knit as follows: 1st (front) p. with a sectional dyeing thread: from the 1st p. knit 1 front and 1 front crossed, then knit all the front loops to the last loop, from the last loop knit 1 front and 1 front crossed = added 2 points.

2nd (purl) p. sectional dyeing thread: front loops.

3rd p. dark blue thread: knit like 1st p.

4th p. dark blue thread: purl.

In height, repeat the 1st-4th p. until the length of the back on the left edge reaches 44 (48) 52 (56) 60 cm = back width.

From this place in each front row along the left edge, instead of increments, knit the last 2 stitches together with the front one, continue the increments along the right edge. Thus, the number of loops remains unchanged.

When the height of the part reaches 58 (59) 60 (61) 62 cm along the right edge, in each front row, perform reductions only along the right edge as follows: remove the 1st p. As with knitting, 1 front, pull the removed loop through it.

Perform decrements on both sides until 2 sts remain on the needles.

Knit these 2 loops together with the front one and pull the thread through the last loop.

FRONT

Knit like a back. Shoulder seams sew with a mattress seam. On both sides of the shoulder seam measure for armholes 18 (19) 20 (21) 22 cm and mark.

SLEEVES

With a dark blue thread on the needles No. 3, dial on the edges between the marks 82 (87) 92 (97) 102 loops and knit with the main pattern. For side bevels in each next 16 (14) 12 (10) 8th p. subtract on both sides 10 (12) 15 (17) 20 x 1 p. For size 38/40 after 14 p. subtract another 1 p. and for size 44/46 after 10 p. still subtract 1 p. = 62 p.

Through 47 (45) 43 (41) 39 cm from the beginning of the sleeve, additionally knit a 6 cm dark blue thread with an elastic band.

Then close the hinges freely according to the drawing.

Tie the second sleeve in the same way.

ASSEMBLY

Moisten the details slightly, stretch according to the dimensions indicated in the pattern and leave until completely dry. Side seams and sleeve seams, respectively, with one seam. For a collar with dark blue thread on knitting needles No. 3, dial 35 p. And knit 50 cm with the main pattern. Connect the open loops of the last row to the initial edge with a loop-to-loop seam.

Sew the collar into the neckline so that the colored ribs lie outside when the lapel is turned up.

For planks along the lower edge of the front and back with a dark blue thread, cast on circular needles No. 3, evenly distributing, 264 (288) 312 (336) 360 p. And knit in circular rows with an elastic band. After 6 cm, the loops are free to close according to the pattern.
