- chest girth... The measure is taken around the body, laying a meter under the front paws of the animal.
Some outfits require additional measurements. For example, determine the distance between the front and hind legs or the circumference of the "waist".
The resulting values are transferred to paper, writing them into the pattern. When the pattern is ready, it is applied to the animal and adjustments are made so that later not to alter the finished outfit. You can read about what measurements are needed when sewing clothes for cats below.
Universal drawing
Most outfits can be sewn based on just one pattern. To create a universal drawing, you need a sheet of paper and measurements taken from the animal. On the basis of measurements, a pattern is drawn, consisting of a back and a front.
All smooth curves are drawn intuitively and adjusted after the first try-on. Having drawn the proposed pattern, it is necessary to make allowances for the seams, after which the details are cut out and the image is transferred to the wrong side of the fabric.

- neck girth - neckline 22 cm.
If you knit and you have a lot of leftovers, then you don't have to buy yarn on purpose, but use the one that you have. Since my favorite is black, and bright colors do not suit her, I chose a dark green yarn - 60 g, 20 g dark blue, 10 g salad and 10 g beige.

Left loops for the armhole can be transferred to an auxiliary knitting needle or pin. And then type them again on a working knitting needle and continue knitting. But I decided that the pin would interfere with me, and knitted 12 loops set aside for the armhole with an additional yellow thread. I again transferred them to the left knitting needle and continued to knit the same row with yarn of the main color to the place of the next armhole, 12 loops of which I also knitted first with an additional thread, then with the main one.
We knit the remaining 10 cm to the line of the neck, as noted on the pattern - cutting in every second row the loops left for the armhole: 10 persons. n., 2 persons together, 8 persons., 2 vm. persons., 31 persons, 2 vm. persons., 8 persons., 2 vm. persons., 10 persons. I went through many different descriptions of both vests and sweaters on the Internet different ways knitting, but came across a very easy-to-knit sweater-petal on the site "Nursery of Russian Toys" Talisman of Love ",.
True, the description of the sweater is given for a dog of the Toy Terrier breed, but our Sphynx practically does not differ in size.
I took the yarn from the leftovers, you will need very little of it, Angora Rabbit yarn (in 100 gr. 500 m, composition 60% acrylic, 40% rabbit), the yarn is very soft and light. Not all cats put up with the fact that they are wearing something, so I chose this particular yarn. Knitting needles number 4 and 2.5. I made my own changes to the model, on the back I tied a small imitation of 3 braids (according to the same knitting principle as described in knitting slippers), tied a strip for the chest with a striped one (added a dark gray color of Bambino yarn (Kamtex)) with with one "pigtail".

This is the simplest part of a sweater because fits without wisdom. We just cast on 10-12 loops (I took a little more), and knit the length of the sweater without the "ponytail". It is only necessary to take into account that for males this part should be slightly shorter than for bitches.

Having tied the desired length, we go to the needles number 2.5 and knit 10-14 rows of the neck (as in part number 1).
Well, you are almost there! It remains only to collect the petals into a single whole - and that's it! We start assembly from the neck. You can crochet the parts, but I just sew with a needle and thread left after closing the neck loops.
Sew the details up to the row in which we reduced the loops to form the collar. Here the thread needs to be secured. This is the beginning of the sleeve. Having stepped back at least 6-7 cm, we continue to sew the details. Don't try to keep the neckline of the sleeves smaller! You want to make a comfortable sweater, not a straitjacket!
secret: before continuing to sew the parts, align those edges of the parts that will cover the stomach. Thus, the extra length of part No. 2 will go into the sleeve opening and make the sleeve more comfortable.
If you are not satisfied with such a large opening, and it seems that half of the dog is left “on the street”, tie a small sleeve. Literally 6-7cm is enough length.
Do not rush to sigh with relief and catch your adorable toy for trying on! You are not finished yet. You need to take a needle, rubber string and strengthen the neck and abdomen area. So, we take a thread, a needle, and stitch under the loops two rows in the throat area (where we switched to needles No. 2.5) and two rows in the abdomen. For males, 4 rows of elastic can be made in this place. Instead of stitching with an elastic band, you can thread a string in the throat area, which will not only fix the sweater on the dog's body, but also decorate it. the ends of the lace can be decoratively decorated, for example, with tassels or pompoms.
