- filler (better synthetic winterizer, but you can take cotton wool).
We follow the instructions:
1. Draw a template. Cut out.
2. Apply to felt. Carefully cut along the contour. As a result, we should have: 2 parts of the body, 2 parts of the wings, 2 eyes, as well as 1 beak, crest and "earrings" or "beard". 
3. We sew each wing with a buttonhole seam. We try to maintain an equal distance between the stitches. With each stitch, a bead is strung on the thread. In the process of work, we tighten the thread so that it does not dangle in the finished product, but sits tightly in its place.
4. When the wings are ready, set them aside. We start working with the torso. We add both parts together. We sew a stitching stitch, starting from the tuft, so we put it between the details of the body and head.
5. Having fastened 2/3 of the work in this way, we fill the product with filler, pushing it inward with a dense layer, and straightening it.
6. When the needle reaches the head, insert the beard and beak between the parts. Sew completely, fix the thread from the inside.
7. Glue the wings by applying just a few drops of glue to the felt. You need to be careful with super glue: if you apply too much of it, you can burn through the felt or spoil it with dark spots that have come through.
8. The final touch is the circles of the eyes, we attach them to the head with glue, add a bead to the center, it will serve as a pupil. The cockerel is ready.
Advice - you need to fasten the loop by slightly displacing it from the middle of the bird to its head. Then it will not fall on its side.

We need colors:

- green.
Sheets with a thickness of 1 to 3 mm.
From the first bird there were scraps of felt, so it is not at all necessary to take whole sheets, we will use the leftovers.

2. Apply to felt, cut along the contour. We make the body of the bird in the shape of a heart. In addition to him, we should get the following fragments of a cockerel:
3. Set aside one half of the body. We apply elements to the second, and fix them with glue. We start with the tail. The bottom layer is bright orange felt, the tail feathers are the largest.
4. Above them we fix the white (shortest) parts symmetrically. The last layer is long feathers of medium thickness made of green felt.
5. Glue the scallop, beard and beak. Pay attention to the shape of the beak. I make it open on purpose. To do this, we fold a small piece of felt in half, leaving a solid common base, on the opposite side we cut off the excess parts of the felt so that we get a triangle.
6. The second part of the torso is applied from above. We are stitching. Please note: a multilayer tail, especially one saturated with glue, is stitched with great difficulty. Therefore, you need to use a thicker and stronger needle than a beaded one, helping yourself with a thimble, or make irregular stitches (for example, make a 5-7 mm skip every 3-5 stitches). It's easier for me to skip around the tail.
7. We glue the wings. You can pre-embroider them. beautiful pattern using a beaded thread, you can decorate with shiny sequins or bugles.
As a decoration, I choose a button to match the body. Two more black buttons will serve as eyes for us. You can neatly fold them, and sew on a needle in such a way as to simultaneously sew these elements to the head. You can just stick it on. If the glue is good, it will be very difficult to remove the buttons from the eyes.
The creation of such small cockerels takes a little time, and the patron of the coming year will definitely be satisfied with the result.
